This DVD is a 'must have' for any Josh Groban fan. The first time I heard his voice, I was captivated. Two years later, this past summer, after attending Josh's 'Closer' concert, my thoughts were -- it was just what I expected. Perfect. From the subtle background imagery, interesting lighting patterns, the orchestra, band, and all the fabulous songs, I wanted to see it all over again! Featuring songs from both his first and second CD's, it shows a wide range of song styles and his vocal abilities. All the favorites are there, including, 'To Where You Are', 'You Raise Me Up' and his current single, 'Remember When It Rained' which he co-wrote and plays piano on both the studio track and live during the concert. To further feature his talent as a musician, and not just a fabulous vocalist, Josh showcases his talent by playing keyboards, piano and the drums. Also featured, is the very talented violinist, Lucia Micarelli. Pretty, barefoot, and intense, she practically steals the show a couple of times. The Extra's include a wonderful live performance of the song 'Believe' from the movie Polar Express, and a 20 minute long behind the scenes look at this year's tour. Narrated by Josh, showing plenty of footage, it shows the person behind the voice and is perhaps one of my favorite parts of this DVD. When I describe Josh's singing to my friends and people I meet, I tell them that the tone and vocal quality of his voice is just plain 'pleasing' to the ears, not to mention his enourmous talent. He is just, bottom line, one of the most Exquisite Male Vocalists of Our Time. Way to go Josh! Everyone else . . . Enjoy!

One doesn’t have to understand the words—Josh Groban’s voice reaches right down into your heart and strokes the sweet spot in your soul. Mr. Groban could have been standing on a street corner in the rain—no “special lighting effects, noise, staging, etc” were needed, only his voice. Oh, and I see with great clarity that anyone equating Groban's gift with a KISS concert reunion: 1. Has either been rejected somehow by Mr. Groban, or more likely, 2. HAS no soul...

I was at this concert the second night of filming and I was in the second row pit! Josh was awesome and so is the violinist! I definitely recomend this to any Grobanite!

From the very start of Josh Groban's concert I could hear a nasaly, affected voice. This concert was truly dreadful. To just concentrate on the vocals by Groban...his voice simply wasn't there. It was nasal at times, weak on others. "Mi Mancherai" was probably the worst with very few moments of clarity after that. The special lighting effects, noise, staging, etc., all combined gave this concert the feel of a KISS reunion, but with a more middle-aged audience. Okay....It was a KISS concert. Groban lacked all of the polish and finesse of previous concerts. Success has truly spoiled the star. Perhaps in future concerts Groban will concentrate his energy on his one (and only one) talent.....his singing.
