I've been using it about 5 weeks now, 3-4 times/week and I still work up a sweat. It's taken me about that long before I finally felt like I had a good handle on the moves. I took it slow, working on just the beginners session for the 1st week, then adding the middle session for about 2 weeks and finally trying the advanced session. I really like it. I will probably need to get a supplement step DVD because now that I have the moves down, I could see it getting kind of redundant and not as challenging, but it is still a great workout!

I take step classes & wanted to get in some more cardio at home, but please....come on! This is from the 80's & I felt like I was doing the most basic things ever!!!! Not worth your money at all!!!!

This is a great video. I had never done step workouts and it was suprisingly easy to follow and Kathy Smith is not annoying even after listening to her for a month. I also love the fact that you can skip to the workout you want to do and that there is a toning, abs and weights workout too.

You will get a great workout if you can do the entire video/disk. The workout is broken down into increments so I do recommend it for beginners. The only thing I didn't like was that some of her cues were out of sequences or the wrong moves were called out. I basically overcame that obstacle by memorizing those sections. Also, the selection of music was not bad but not high energy which makes a big difference when doing STEP. Overall this is one of the better STEP video/disk I have purchased. I'm still looking for the perfect one.

Kathy gives clear instruction and her cues are nearly right on every time. Beginners can catch on quite quickly as the combinations are very repetive. Advanced steppers can also benefit by adding propulsion and raising the step bench. Camera angles are perfect...you can actually tell what is going on instead of second guessing the new move. The ab workout at the end is good but short so I do it twice. Same with the upper and lower body sculpting portions of the tape. Handweights are needed for upper body sculpting. All in all it is a wonderful workout and my sweatband is soaked every time.

I have enjoyed this tape so far because it is far from repetative, beware though- this is not for beginners! If you don't already know the basic steps she's calling for, you will spend a lot of time trying to catch on. I also like that there's three parts to choose from so that I can vary the workout depending on my energy!
