I watched this film with the expectation that it would disappoin

I watched this film with the expectation that it would disappoint me as so many other films had. However, this film was a total surprise! The film kept my interest., I learned alot from it. If you wish to understand the great depression you have to also understand the affects of the great "Dust Bowl" It is appalling that it was so huge in scope and so much land destroyed. The affects were profound and would be for many years to come. It takes into account the actions of the government, personal experiences of daily life..and I found at the end of this film that I had learned more about that period then I had from most of the studying I had done.  It is broken down into time frames and how it all unfolded. It is as good a film as can be gotten on this era and is very powerful and compelling. If you want to know more about that era, the great depression and the " Dust bowl" this is simply the best teaching  tool or to learn from!
