I am a total film snob. I can't hardly watch newer movies because I think most of them are pointless, badly written, have bad acting, and are really just a waste of time. THAT SAID...I absolutely love this movie! It's one of Tarantino's best (I'm a huge fan). I'm not even that into action flicks, but this one has enough good writing and enough twists and turns in the plot that I get completely absorbed into it every time I watch it. Awesome, awesome movie :)

It has everything you'd ever want in a movie: funny, great acting, original plot, amazing soundtrack, and an amazing script. If your set off from the bad reviews they're probably just not used to quirky movies. Quintin Tarantino's style is very interesting/weird, he pretty much takes things he liked from bad movies, make it his own and it comes out awesome. The blood squirts out of peoples bodies because in some japanese anime thats what happens (an example of crap into awesome), WARNING! This movie is pretty gory so if your not into or can't handle that kind of stuff don't watch this.

I absolutely loved this movie and its sequel, and it was a gateway for me to other films by director quentin tarantino and others. people think that tarantino wanted us to take the gore seriously instead it was a comedy mechanism, and i find it a little disturbing that people think that they should take it seriously, because it was so blatenly fake. truthfully the violence isn't that bad, yes it is worse than that of other movies, but the gore and violence is so artificial that it isn't sqeamishly unbearable. also, for you to watch a quentin tarantino movie you have to know quentin tarantino and his style of directing. he very frequently takes elements from other movies and apply them to his, so the claim that this movie is plaigerism would be correct, but not fair i mean look at pulp fiction that movie cranks out references and material from other movies almost non-stop, and yet it is a great movie. and if you are so worried about you children watching it don't let them. i think this is more of a defense than a review, but i extremely adore and enjoyed this movie along with volume 2.

This is by far Quentin's Best! I went behind my parent's back to see this film, and have bought it. I waited months to see this film about revenge! Uma Thurman is now my favorite actress, i even liked her in "My Super ex Girlfriend." This film is cheezy gore, so people afraid of blood can laugh during this sleaze-filled-saga. And this is only the first half! The scenes in Anime, though? Come on, Quentin! But the scenes she kills, the movie explodes with violence. I loved the crazy 88, but even the small scenes (Vivian Green) were amazing. This is not a Quentin drag on film. In fact, there are little scenes that don't end into a severed head or a ripped out tongue. Beats even Pulp Fiction & Death Proof! Don't miss this revenge film best served cold...

I didn't get to watch the whole movie but what I watches was amazing.I mean Uma, Lucy and others were perfect for this movie. It had great music like Bang Bang My Baby Shot Me Down. And I bet everyone had to work really hard for the Kung Fu moves. Especialy Uma.It may be bloody but I can take it. And I think it should be PG13 because there is a young girl in it and she can't watch it so yeah.

This is Quentin's third best (behind Pulp Ficion and Resevoir Dogs). It is a very well made, action-packed movie that still feels like Tarantino. This is worlds better than the dissapointing 2nd part. I don't understand why everyone is so mad because of the action if it was gone, would it really be all that good? NO! This isn't a kids' movie either, so don't complain about the violence and gore. This movie really stood out, and the additions like the anime sequence and characters like Hatori Hanzo made this movie absolutely perfect.

I watched this movie last night, I thought it was truly dissapointing but it was a pretty good story though. It was dissapointing for me because Quentin Tarintino is one of my favorite directors of all time. Watching this I was asking myself, "Tarintino Lost HIS MIND, what was he thinking?" The things that made this film dissapointing were the violence, the out of control gore, and some of the scenes that were really sick. The first sick scene was when Uma Thurman killed Vivica A. Fox's character, and she turns around and her victims daugther was behind her watching the entire murder. That was just so sick. The other sick part of the movie was when the one guy tried to rape her, thinking that she was in a coma. THen she ripped the guys tongue out of his mouth. I was just, rolling my eyes at that part. The gore was just mindless and uncalled for. This is exactly why parents are getting worried about their kids watching movies nowadays. But don't get me wrong, it did have some great parts. Like when Uma Thurman was fighting Lucy Liu in the snowy garden. That was very clever, and artistic. The directing was however very good, Tarintino hasn't lost his touch. The story was good, despite the sick and disturbing scenes. Overall the movie was disturbing, and dissapointing, but it was decent.

Don't be fooled that because this movie is by a guy like qunetin tarantino it must be artsy and metaphorical. It is the exact opposite. Tarantino brought out the chihld in himself with this film, which is pure mindless action, but it is also the best pure mindless action movie i have ever seen. It's a shame kill bill 2 was so awful.

Wow..."kill bill" is some of Tarantino's best work! He is always way ahead of the "next big thing" and I think that he is a genious. Casting David Carradine as Bill, Uma Thurman as the Bride, and Lucy Liu as O-Ren Ishii was the best thing he could've done. Some people "get" the humor in the outrageous fight scenes, laugh at the blood and love it...but some don't and freak out. So, if you like his other work and can stand the sight of blood,I HIGHLY RECCOMEND "KILL BILL".

The battle scenes were so outragiously bloody that it lacked in belief. When you chopped off his head blood spurted everywhere and didn't stop for five freikin minutes. Uma Thurman did a very good job but you know her feet are just ugly. Lucy Lui was very good in this film and very villianus. Vivica A. Fox was alright but she wasn't in there for very long so I could't really judge her. So over all kind of disapointing but an alright film.

This movie is the best the Tarantino has made by far. His casting was amazing, hiring Uma Thurman, Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Chiyaki Kuriyama, Darryl Hannah, David Carradine, Michael Madsen, and the legendary Sonny Chiba, was just screaming GENIUS. The story: A young woman has just quit a secret organization called 'The Deadly Viper Assassination Squad' and is getting married to the man of her dreams. She is abruptly interrupted when her former co-workers decide to crash the ceremony and kill everyone in the chapel...everyone, except for her. 'The Bride' (Uma Thurman) is out to seek revenge for the killing of her friends and daughter in this blood-spattered tale of revenge. If you enjoy revenge flicks with high amounts of action and blood, then this is the movie for you.

Kill Bill vol.1 is one of Tarantinos best! When I rented this movie alls I wanted to do was see Kill Bill vol.2 but it was a month since Kill Bill vol.2 came to theaters so I couldnt see it. About a month later after i rented Kill Bill vol.1 I bought it and watched it 3 times on the same day. It has a brilliant sword fighting scene when Uma goes up against the crazy 88. It also has great music it has great acting and I loved the pussy wagon :-) it has realy realy cool bloody violence and cartoon violence. Its a very fun film to watch and if you havent seen it BUY IT NOW

When I saw the previwes for this movie I did not think much of it. I thought it would be worth seeing but just a typical revenge movie. This movie turned out to be one of my favorites of all time. I can not give Tarantino enough credit. Uma Thurman was perfect along with the rest of the cast. This is a must see movie.

I began watching KB Vol 1 with as much trepidation as I had when I saw 'Saving Private Ryan'. Unlike SPR, this movie's violence, opening scene aside, was so over the top it was silly. However, the opening scene does leave its mark after the film is over and the final scene in KB Vol 1 will leave you unable to skip KB Vol 2, which is where the real movie begins. Again, with much trepidation that that movie would pick up where this one's opening left off and be unbearable gore, it was an awsome surprise. But you do have to see them both and in order or KB Vol 1 would be a disappointment to watch after the fact. I'd love to see Uma and David in a pre-quel!

Kill Bill, Volume 1 is an exceptional movie from an exceptional director. Uma Thurman's performance is spectacular! Volume 1 is vile yet absorbing with gorgeous directing. The story and style of this motion picture is captivating and may be one of the greatest scripts ever written. Volume 1 takes place in an unrealistic world, however, the characters and their emotions couldn't be more real. Kill Bill, Volume 1 shouldn't be missed by anyone!

This film covers every genre: Kung-fu, exploitation, spaghetti western, yakuza action flick, and many more. Tarantino has created a film which recalls pretty much every explotiation flick from the 70s and creates a ride for the viewers that lasts from the moment we see the old vintage 'And now our feature presentation' to the flim's wonderful cliffhanger ending that will leave you speachless. Tarantino proves himself not only to be a great new action director but one that sets the standard for today's action film. Tarantino not only gives his film style, but also a great story that only grows in depth in the film's second volume. Also, it must be said that Uma Thurman gives an outstanding pefromance that is both physically and emotionally demanding. She pulls it off wonderfully. As for the DVD, it's pretty much bare-bones. The picture and sound are great, but the special features are lacking (a making of featurette and some trailers, but that's it). It's obvious he's saving them for a massive DVD pack for volumes one and two. However, if you can't wait that long (and you shouldn't, this is such an enjoyable movie), pick this DVD up and enjoy a movie by one of the greatest director's of this generation.
