All the Kimmie, All the Time...

A must for Kim Possible fans, and a delight for those who despair of what passes for modern animation. For those unfamiliar with the phenomenally successful series, a spotter's guide follows. Our title character is just your average teenage high-schooler: she's a cheerleader, whose mom is a brain surgeon and her father a rocket scientist. She suffers the usual teen angst of boys, nasty girls competing for her head cheerleader position, and her all-too-brilliant twin younger brothers, Jim and Tim. Oh yes, she also saves the world on a daily basis, answering calls to action on her website (motto: 'she can do anything!'), which is maintained by Wade, a 10-year-old supergenius with a bent for amazing inventions. Her best friend and comedic sidekick is Ron Stoppable (who has his own sidekick in Rufus, a pet naked mole rat with remarkable abilities all his own). Her acrobatic and kung-fu skills come in handy when fighting international super-freaks like Doctor Drakken (an evil scientist whose bumbling take-over-the-world plans are often lampooned by his sleekly evil sidekick Shego), Lord Monkeyfist (who had radical genetic surgery done to make him more monkey-like), and Duff Killigan, the world's most dangerous golfer (favorite weapon: exploding golf balls). In this feature-length episode, these villains get together to steal the Tempus Simian idol, made easier by the fact that Ron's parents moved to Norway, splitting the crime-fighting duo. Hilarity ensues when the villains try to use the idol's time-traveling abilities to keep Kim from becoming the 'freak-fighting cheerleader with a website' we all know and love. The humor is sly and the animation solid as the action moves from the past to the not-too-distant future in which the idol's power allows one of the villains to take over the world by -- but that would be telling! Get this enjoyable little romp on video or DVD, and you'll have a program that will entertain the whole family (and even perhaps teach a little Latin in the bargain).
