Kipper is Nick Jr.'s top dog, and this DVD collects the pick of the litter from the gentle and playful animated series based on Mark Inkpen's books. Kipper takes in a rain-tossed gosling in "The Visitor," gets too attached to a hamster intended to be "Pig's Present," pursues an elusive "Butterfly," and spends a frolicsome day in the park with "Pig's Cousin." Kipper also comes to the aid of two stranded aliens in the out-of-this-world "Bleepers" and reassures "The Little Ghost" that it is all right to be nice instead of scary. For preschoolers, Kipper is a series as warm and comforting as the blankets that line Kipper's dog bed. Parents, too, can take comfort that their children are in good paws.
