This is absolutely delightful! I introduced my two college kids to it and they enjoyed it too. Life changes with many varied experiences!

one of the most delightful foreign films this year. Not only is the story enthralling but also very comedic and ingenuous!

This film is a wonderful break from the usual american centered movies we are presented with. The multiple languages are not a problem, indeed it adds to the charm of the piece. I highly recommend it! Watch if you have studied abroad, wish that you had, are thinking about it, or just want to see how much fun it is!

I LOVE "L'Auberge Espagnole"! Someone recommended this movie to me as I was preparing to go on a Spanish exchange, and it has since then become my all-time favorite. The filming is unique and colorful, with sparkling images of Barcelona alleyways and waterfronts. The plot is craftfully woven together with a sassy array of characters and unexpected twists around every corner. As the story progressed, I found myself becoming more attached to each of the members of the Spanish apartment, and more understanding of what it would be like walking in Xavier's shoes. It is a clever portrayal of Spanish culture through the eyes of an outsider, and is filled with humorous scenes during which you will not be able to control your laughter! As a lover of traveling, art, and interesting finds, I highly recommend this film!

This is a must see for anyone curious about European culture and life. It has encouraged me to study in Germany this semester.

The imagery of this film is absolutely superb! There are breathtaking scenes of Barcelona landscapes and buildings. The story is about stepping outside of your element and experiencing life as you never would otherwise! It is the perfect film for explaining the emotions of a college student before it is time to enter the 'real world' and figuring out who you are!

This movie was wonderful! I would recommend this movie to anyone who is a foreign language, economics and business major.I truely believe that it gives you a very inlighting view about culture. I myself is a language major and an international major. I was once in a program that was very much like this one in the movie. It was a very awesome experience. It teaches you to question your own nationality I think! I was really shocked that we the Americans don't even really like to learn other languages, and cultures hardly at all! And we really should. I myself since I was a young poverty child grew up learning to speak, read and write French,Spanish and Italian. Today I am a multilingual american, with an opened mind and very loving in cultures, and languages that I am even learning 4 new ones. You will notice that many of the youth in this movie speak several languages. My question is, why don't we try to have an open mind like that ? Any way this movie is a masterpiece. It has friendships, sexuality, education, and many other things that we face! I don't mean to sound like a traitor to my country, because I love my America. I just think it will do us all a great deal in this fast growing economy to have a least equivalent know of language/(s) instead of just English.
