    I Also Recommend:

Great for learning basic preschool math

My 2 1/2 year old son loves this DVD. I love him watching anything Leap Frog in general, as they have developed wonderful educational (and engaging) products. With Math Adventure to the Moon he learns sorting, counting to 10, counting by 5's and 10's, and patterns. I had been trying to teach him patterns for a while but the concept is kind of abstract so I was having a bit of a hard time (he's young too, so I don't really stress about it). However after watching this DVD, he really got the concept of it. The songs are also pretty catchy too and he sings along. One thing that Leap Frog has done beautifully is developing a product that keeps the kid engaged. We've had experiences with other educational DVD's but my son gets bored quickly. Not so with the Leap Frog ones. I will gladly recommend this product to any parent of a preschooler.

    It's Mathtastic!

My girls (ages 3 and 2) adore this movie and ask for it daily. We usually let them watch it in the car. The songs have a nice tempo and are fun to listen to. My daughters love to count and sing along. After a few times watching, my three year old counts by 2's, 5's, and 10's now even when they are not watching this movie. It also introduces addition which she is also starting to grasp the concept. We will definately by more Leap Frog videos. I can't think of too many math videos out there that my girls would prefer over Tinkerbell or Barbie but they do with this one.

    Great for learning numbers...

Being a high school math teacher I really wante my child to have a fun way to learn numbers. It's really engaging and my son really likes watching it over and over again. In the morning we have along drive to school and this video is one way to teach him something and keep him entertained.

They start off with just counting. I like that they do skip counting (by 2s, 5s, 10s) and they do it to make the space ship go faster. Also at the end they go through the Alphabet which is another plus that I wasn't expecting from a math video. Overall great product for a 2 or 3 year old. Didn't give it 5 stars because I wish for a two or three year old they would have done more basic counting. But it is a video and it doesn't replace the time we should spend work with them on there numbers and alphabet.

    I Also Recommend:

Fun learning DVD for young children

I recently bought Math Adventure to the Moon for my two-year-old daughter, who loves the Letter and Word Factory DVDs from Leap Frog. She is always very engaged when we watch and particularly enjoys dancing to the 'musical numbers' performed by Tad and Lily. The bonus features and navigation on the DVD are well-organized so we can shoot right to a song / lesson to reinforce concepts (or just to keep dancing to a particular song).

I believe this would be well-received by children aged 2-6, as the concepts presented within the video range from simple (sorting by shape/size/color and 1-10 counting) to more complex (skip counting and addition). There is a good amount of repetition to reinforce the concepts, but it's worked into the story well and not at all boring.
