Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
More phonics fun is in store in this animated video spin-off of the bestselling LeapFrog educational products brand. When young Tad needs to find just the right words to nominate his father for Best Dad in the World, he and his amphibian siblings, Leap and Lily, visit the Talking Words Factory. Professor Quigley, with help from the out-of-control Word Whammer and the Sticky-Icky-O-Rama, demonstrates how letters are combined to make words. Clever animation and playful music introduce and reinforce such basic concepts as vowels, consonants, and rhyming.

    Hopping into Reading

Mr. Frog and Professor Quiqley have opened a new factory -- the talking words factory. Here Leap and Lilly help the Professor teach Tad about making simple words. Children learn about -at,-ig,-et,-op,-ig and -ug words. In addition to learning about word blends like when you use st- at the beginng or end to spell words. Some words on the DVD include: cat, hat, bat, big, pig, set, get, mad and let. There is also a game in which children can complete words which are missing a letter.
