Only a handful of live recordings were made during Led Zeppelin's decade-long run atop the rock 'n' roll charts, most notably the Madison Square Garden performance recorded in 1973 and released several years later as The Song Remains the Same. This new collection, supervised by guitarist Jimmy Page, includes footage cut from that seminal if sometimes sloppy documentary, plus material from other gigs that is sure to prove revelatory to the group's legion of fans.     Great Footage and Performances

    This is probably the best concert-film (Actually Multiple Concerts) I have seen. I'm really happy to own it. It's definetaly an essential for Zeppelin fans. If your a person who stand documentaries which miss out on chunks of concerts, you'll love this.

    Wow

    I never had a chance to see Led Zeppelin perform in fact I wasn't even born when the band dissolved, but this DVD is as close to the real thing as possible. Led Zeppelin are incredibly good musicians that have inspired almost every act to come after them. If there is a bible for rock music, this comprises the entire Old Testament.

    THE GODS OF ROCK!

    Some of the best Zeppelin footage you will ever see. Jones' bass playing was fast and perfect as was his keyboarding, though the camera could have gone to him a little more often. Bonham, what can I say? His drums sound like thunder and he has the damn fastest bass foot I've ever seen. Plant, well, his voice could have been a better in some songs, such as Stairway but more than likely he was stoned during all of these performances. Page, a guitar god and sometimes I found myself wondering how does he do that?

    A MUST

    Great DVD. You can definitely tell it was edited by Jimmy Page - footage of he and Plant probably makes up 85% of the film, making Jones and Bonham seem sort of incidental. But who's complaining? Page and Plant in their heyday were definitely not too hard on the eye. It's neat seeing them when they were so young and a little sad to see them toward then end at Knebworth - following Plant's accident. It was only 3 years or so after the last footage on the DVD but here's Page in PLEATED LINEN PANTS(!) and a long-sleeve button-down looking like the most ordinary bloke and grinning like a game show host. (What happened to the sneering sexy god in the leather snake outfit?) Plant looks subdued now and his voice is different. Life has changed them and the times have changed. (Everybody sort of looks ready to go to the DISCO after the show.) Here, they are no longer the young gods and although we love it when they play the old tunes, the truth is that the breakup probably would have happened pretty soon anyway. Their time has passed. It's also sad to look at Bonham and know that in a short time, he'll be dead. Get this DVD. You'll love it.

    A cool video.

    What can i say, Zeppelin is king. I really like the songs Black Dog and the ocean and Misty Mountain top. Stairway to Heaven is ok but is overrated. A good video.

    Some of the best footage of Led Zeppelin, caught right here on this dvd

    This dvd has some of the best footage of Led Zeppelin. On the first disc, the bow solo on 'Dazed and Confused' is just so amazing, i just wanted to cry. John Bonham's drum solo for 'Moby Dick' is just so mind blowing. GOing to california and that's the way sound so flawless. WHen John Paul Jones plays the keyboards on 'Stairway to Heaven' he sounds so flawless. The footage on here is just so flawless. I recommend this to any Led Zeppelin fan.

    LED ZEPPELIN!...or is it?

    Sorry to spoil the party, but for me this is one of the worst music DVDs I own. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Led Zeppelin - in fact, the first five Zep albums are some of my all-time favorites. However, judging by this DVD, it doesn't seem they were all that great a live band. The stage shows have no great effects and having to watch the band perform with no stage antics is as fun as watching paint dry. Even the bonus features are just the same thing all the way through. Even if I just listened to the soundtrack of the DVD on my computer, I couldn't even BEAR to listen to the entire Royal Albert Hall concert. If you want to know what a rockumentary should look like, check out The Beatles Anthology. If you want to see how great a concert really is on DVD, get either of the Peter Gabriel Us or Up concerts.

    ABSOLUTELY AWESOME

    For anyone that is into LZ this is for you. If you are into the ZEP at all this video is a MUST SEE. Even though listening to their cd's you can defintely hear their electrifying talent but in this dvd you can actually watch them come to life with Jimmy Page making his guitar come to life and Robert Plant on stage doing his thing and Bonso and Jonsey in the back ground making the whole scene so real its almost as good as being there. It is ABSOLUTELY A MUST SEE for anyone that is into the ZEP scene.

    Coming from a straight guy, this was absolutely fabulous!!!

    This is the greatest dvd I have ever seen from the best live band of all time. Jimmy Page stole the show in the first disc and the rest of the collection is awesome. Thank God Jimmy found this footage in the archives. I especially enjoyed the part where Jimmy plays guitar with a violin bow. Any hard rock fan must get this 2-dvd set.

    Best zeppelin documentery I have every seen

    I have watched this many times, and cannot get over how well jimmy page can play. I also play guitar and this has inspired me a lot.

    Outstanding as I imagined.

    Their performance in the movie 'the song remains the same' was very good, but somehow I wasn´t that content with it because it lacked what this dvd doesn't. Maybe because they were just starting out, they were younger and less tired then in 1973 but the Albert Hall concert is far better and you can clearly see the energy and talent of the group as I wanted to see it for a long time until now. Robert Plant´s voice is exactly as you hear it on Led Zeppelin II, with the advantage of more creative singing, howling and great super heavy metal screams. You can also apreciate Page´s playing in more detail as Bonhams drumming. Jones I think is given the least attention, you can hardly see how he plays, even though I think he was the weakest member of the four in the playing sense, but was very outstanding also.

    I loved it

    Take note music industry...fans WILL pay to purchase outstanding music even if it's 25-30 years old. Led Zeppelin's new CD and DVD are OUTSTANDING. As a Zep fan, I love anything from the group. As a music fan I treasure these collections for their sheer brilliance and for the message they send to the music industry that GOOD music sells. This stuff is way beyond good. I ordered it as soon as I saw it here in California in Canyon Newspaper in the Star-gazing column. The writer mentioned it, so I ordered it along with her book ''HE NEVER CALLED AGAIN''.

    Awesome DVD Falls Short in the Packaging

    It has been a long time since Rock and Roll and it's finally here. The DVD set you have been waiting for is finally here. Quit looking to e-Bay or second hand record stores for poor quality bootlegs and even poorer quality VHS tapes. This set is a solid representation of the Led Zeppelin at their best. The more I watch it, the better it gets. This set has amazing picture quality and fantastic sound. That been said, who there at Atlantic records fell asleep at the wheel. There are a lot of fans that bought this set just because it is Led Zeppelin, but what the marketing department failed to think about was the new batch of kids discovering Led Zeppelin for the first time. The marketing department should be ashamed of themselves for the packaging and presentation of this set. It really has been a long time since rock and roll, but they should have considered consulting the bootleg market to learn how real packaging happens. Compared to the Later Visions bootleg artwork this set is shameful. Remember Led Zeppelin III and that great spinning wheel, or Physical Graffiti with those changing windows, and Presence with that mysterious object? That was the kind of stuff a record buying kid looked forward to. Why didn’t they take the time and include information about the various album covers and artwork? It's not like they don't have it. Half the kids today have never even seen a record album. Wouldn’t it have been nice to open up a fat booklet loaded with images of the band, see a brief biography of the band, and even been provided lyrics to the songs on the DVD. If the new kids new the lyrics to the songs it would be easier to sing along. Atlantic records has failed marketing 101. Give the buyer a feeling that they are getting more than what they paided for. After all, it would only be paper. It is for this reason that peer-to-peer sharing is so big. Anybody with an Epson 740 could have put that package together. Don’t let the lack of extra goodies, and poor packaging keep you from buying this set though. For those too young ever to have had the chance to see Led Zeppelin, it sure is a treat. I can thow away some of my bootlegs now!

    Awesome DVD from an Awesome band

    Led Zeppelin is oen of the greatest bands ever, and this 2 disc dvd shows them at some of thier best performances. This is an absolute must have for any led zeppelin fan, or any rock fan.also check out the other zeppelin dvd ''The Song Remains the Same''

    Oh my god!

    I watched this DVD with my husband and had to stop him from talking because of the impact it had on me. Plant is gorgeous and Page is phenominal. The best part is I can watch them without my husband being there.

    Its great but...

    Do they have that Kashmir song from the Manhattan concert recently done? That would be realy good...other than that it seems great, and I saw some of it at my brothers house. Classic rock will never die with artists like this...
