    Among the finest concert dvd's

Leonard Cohen has been doing something very few artists do-- He has become better with age. Forty years ago young people were entranced by "Suzanne" and "Sisters of Mercy". Today both young and old are still entranced by his early work, but are also appreciating artistic accomplishment on the same level--and with more range and maturity--in albums such as "The Future" and "I'm Your Man". In addition to continued success with his writing he has become even better on stage in live performances. "Live In London" is an example of the masterful performances being reported from around the world. It appears to be a tour marked by energy and artistic brilliance which is the envy of any artist at any age.

    I Also Recommend:

You owe it to yourself to get this one!

Mr. Cohen is an amazing lyricist with a deep resonating voice. His words can move listeners in ways only a genius can. He is a humble, wise, and accessible performer, genuinely thanking the audience and his fellow musicians time and again. The artists he has chosen for this show are of the highest caliber, sending Cohen's sublime performance to near perfection. If we could only watch one concert, on say a desert island, this is the one my husband and I would choose.

The only reason I didn't choose a five-star rating is because when you watch the whole concert in one sitting, it can begin to sound repetitious. While this does not matter at all to us, it has to some of our guests when we've shared it with them. Solution? Just watch half in one sitting. After all, as Mr. Cohen says, "There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in."

    Engaging and Soothing!

I first heard this CD during a PBS fund raising program. I found Mr.Cohen's voice and enegry to be so soothing and engaging that I immediately ordered this CD. I have since played it at least once a week. His lyrics are true and sincere and brings perspective to everyday actions.

    Leonard Cohen Live in London

What can you say about Leonard Cohen that hasn't been said before? Yes, he is gracious, humble and a gentle man who lives and sings his words in the true form of a poet.

But after viewing this concert, I found myself falling more in love with his presense, his vocals and his undying love for his audience, his backup singers and his musicians.

He saluted his hat with every applause the he received and was truly humbled by the audiences's adoration. Also, he doffed his hat with every musicians exquisite solo performance.

Vocally, he was strong as I have ever heard in recent years. The song, "Boogie Street" written and sung with his collaborator and backup singer, Sharon Robinson, especially blew me away.

I have viewed this concert several times and can't wait to do it again.

Believe me, you will want to see this concert continually. You will find yourself humming his tunes after hearing them.

Go - Buy this concert - Enjoy!

    A wonderful concert

My husband and son recently saw this concert live and said it was one of the best they have ever been to. I had to settle for the DVD but I felt like I was there. Props to all the folks involved in the making of the DVD!

I was engaged from the start to finish. Leonard Cohen remains a gracious, humble and immensely talented man. I have long considered him an incredible poet and songwriter with the voice of a frog but he even sounded good!

The musicians were excellent as were the backup singers.

the entire concert had a nice humor and feel to it. I watch it again and again.

    I Also Recommend:

One of the best music dvds I have ever seen.

If you are in any way a fan of Leonard Cohen, this DVD is a must-have. The choice of songs, mixed with the quality of the performers and the incredible presence of Mr. Cohen, 74 years old when this was filmed, combine to make watching this DVD a riveting experience. Even if you are only marginally familiar with Leonard Cohen's work, you are likely to treasure this program if you are at all inclined to appreciate his songs or poetry. I have purchased several as gifts for friends.

    Leonard Cohen Live in London

I reserved this thinking it was going to be a CD and it was a DVD-- what a bonus! Watching this sweet poet of a classic, timeless man was wonderful. Good for the soul of this oldie.
