I thought I would be getting the REAL Walk Away weights like I did with Leslie's original VHS package I bought on QVC, but NO! Imagine my surprise when the package arrived with one DVD sized box. What was inside? ONE DVD and two completely deflated plastic balls. The instructions stated that you have to unfold the plastic balls flat (which is impossible, first of all) and then you have to stick them under the faucet and put water in them. What???? There's a tiny little hole where the water is supposed to go in. I say "supposed" to because water went everywhere!! What a mess it made!!! And worse yet, even with the ball (I only filled one, it was just too messy and not worth it to do both) filled with water it wasn't nice and round like the picture showed, but awkward to hold and misshapened. What a complete waste of money! I saw the exact same weighted balls at my local discount store for $7 and I'm going to buy a pair of those. Don't waste your money folks, it's not worth the trouble and hassle.

Otherwise, I'm pretty sure you burn more calories putting it in the DVD player than actually doing it. I didn't even break a sweat.

This package appears to include three workouts - 1-Mile, 2-Mile and 3-Mile walks. I bought them separately and really like them. If they are the same workouts, and I think they are, this is a GREAT price for them. Leslie is a little on the chatty side. I have chosen to find this useful instead of annoying as I often turn UP the sound and walk through the house and even up and down stairs instead of walking in place in front of the TV! I can add variety that way, and sometimes can even do chores while walking. Leslie's moves are simple, safe and direct, and she has at least one person in the workout crew who modifies the movements for less impact. The participants are "real" adult people, not size 2 teenagers, which is helpful for me to stay motivated as another "real" person. They are all attractive in that they are smiling, have good posture, seem confident and are able to do the workout. Walking workouts are so excellent to have on hand for days in between strength training workouts and to stay active ANY day, even if it's bad weather or time is short. The Walk-Away Weights are nice but I already own a set of 1.5-pound "walking weights" so I just use those. I encourage anyone who wants a "doable" workout to WALK.

I have owned this dvd for nearly 3 months and have managed to use it get active. I like Leslie's straightforward & simple approach. She explains clearly why you are doing and what you are doing, with plenty of modifications for those who are working up to full speed. I have used this in conjunction with free weight work, walking outside and eating right and have lost nearly 20 lbs. Another good thing about these workouts is that you don't need to have a huge amount of room to do them in. Nor do you have to be a dance major to perform them. The weights are actually pretty cool, just kind of tricky to get full.
