I ordered this DVD post surgery and began doing the 1 mile walk. I love the 1 mile walk. It is peaceful and uplifting. It is not taxing but a good start to the day or a nice end after a a day at work. Leslie is encouraging but not too chatty. The music is beautfiul and in a quick 18 minutes you can get a nice amount of exercise to increase your metabolism. I gave this DVD 4 stars based on the 1 mile. I have also tried the 2 mile walk and was sorely disappointed. Leslie is chatty and the two back-up walkers with her are distracting. Then, at the end of the walk while she is instructing the coold down, it sounds like a preacher over the loud speaker. It was not relaxing or peaceful at all. In fact, I will do the 1mile walk twice before using the 2 mile option of this DVD.
This is a great beginner walk, and a good one for those days when you aren't up to a long, sweaty exercise session. I found the music calming and uplifting for my body and spirit. It reminds me of the music we sang in church. This one to be a great stress reliever when I'm tense about work or anything else. Try it!
I HAD QUINTUPLE BYPASS SURGERY JAN.2004 & WAS TOLD BY THE DOCTOR TO GET MOVING OR LOSE ANY STRENGTH I GAINED AFTER REHABILITATION. I LOVE THIS EXERCISE ROUTINE & DO IT (AT MY OWN PACE-WHEN NECESSARY) FAITHFULLY AT LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK. REMEMBER- EXERCISE DOESN'T USE UP YOUR ENERGY-IT GIVES YOU ENERGY. FILLED WITH INSPIRATION. A GREAT WAY TO START OR END THE DAY!
Leslie is charming and that makes for an enjoyable session. The 1 and 2 mile are both easy to follow and low impact. It's great to have this alternative when it's so cold during Minnesota's winter!
I really like the Leslie's Walk the Walk series! They're fun, the moves are characteristically simple to follow, and the music is great. I always feel extra-invigorated when I finish one of these videos. I like the walking ones better than the toning one, but they're all good!
