Elsewhere on the family front, Chinese triad members in Los Angeles smuggle families from the mainland, but this is only one item on the criminal agenda of triad leader Wah Sing Ku Jet Li, who executes balletic martial arts maneuvers with blinding speed fight sequences were staged by Hong Kong director Corey Yuen. The film opens with fire when Riggs and Murtaugh encounter a flame-thrower in a bulletproof suit and travels an entertaining popcorn plot path to a frightening, watery climax which we won't reveal here. In between, Riggs and Murtaugh tackle the troublesome triads with an assist from wickedly witty, sharp-edged newcomer Lee Butters Chris Rock and private detective Leo Getz Joe Pesci, the character first seen as a mob accountant in the second film of this highly popular series.

Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide - Michael Costello
The wheels haven't quite come off but there's a definite feeling of something loosening in this most recent installment in the Lethal Weapon series. The formula of this extremely successful juggernaut, mixing comedy with spectacular stunts and deafening explosions had begun to seem a little familiar, lacking the characterization that had made the initial episode so appealing. Danny Glover and the seemingly faster-aging Mel Gibson look like they might be ready for desk work. Hardcore fans of the series may still see some gas left in the tank, particularly in the comic interplay of Joe Pesci's feckless private investigator and Chris Rock's Lee Butters, a cop secretly married to Glover's daughter. Asian martial arts star Jet Li also makes a splash as an unusually sympathetic villain. Despite a virtually indecipherable plot, the stunts, explosions, and special effects are as sharply executed as ever.

    My all time favorite!!

This movie is the best of the Lethal Weapons. Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) go after a Chinese Leader named Wah Sing Ku (Jet Li) who is a martial art expert, and a pro assasin. It will be an effort for even Riggs to bring this brute down because he is made of steel. See this movie today!

    Lethal Weapon 4

This movie is good, entertaining and funny with Chris Rock and Joe Pesci. The car chases are cool and funny as how they're always getting hit in the head then almost about to fall then they get right back up but fall again and its just too much. Jet Li is interesting as the villian is beaten Mel (who had done Max back in the 70's then 80's). Alright movie.
