Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide
If the 1980s and 1990s were the golden age of action movies (in sheer volume at least), Lethal Weapon, descended from the tougher, grittier cop movies of the '70s (Dirty Harry and The French Connection), remains one of its most lasting products. Similar to the following year's Die Hard, the first Weapon balances a likable and believable sense of humanity with a good helping of frenetic action. Mel Gibson is the star here, and his menacing but exposed performance (as in Mad Max) gives the film much of its edge. Director Richard Donner manages the pace of the movie well, and he is careful to make his two stars (Gibson and Danny Glover) the center of our attention without sacrificing the action thriller conventions and construction. Since his major film debut, 1976's The Omen, Donner has proven himself to be one of the more entertaining directors working firmly inside of the Hollywood system. This was the movie that launched Glover into the public consciousness after some notable supporting roles in Witness, Places in the Heart, and Silverado. It also marked a successful comeback for Gibson after a two-year break from filmmaking.

    Mel Gibson's butt

....got KICKED IN THIS MOVIE!! There's a scene where the rebel Riggs fights the bad guy (Busey) in the front yard of the cops house, and Gary Busey beats Riggs like my woman beats eggs when I maker her cook me breakfast. Riggs is weak and Busey rules. This movie should be renamed "Lethal Gary Busey Can Kill Anyone In Hollywood Weapon".

    The coolest movie.

Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) was living a good life until the bad boy came along. Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson)gets partnered up with Murtaugh and gets to know his family. But then a General (Mitchell Ryan)a drug dealer, killed one of Murtaugh's old friend's daughter. The general is also in charge of a bunch of smugglers. Of course Riggs and Murtaugh go after the general and eventually kill him. This movie, like all the other Lethal Weapons is a must.

    Excellent Movie!!

This is definetly a movie to own! It's one of those movies that you never get tired of when watching it over and over again because the plot and storyline is great. Mel and Danny definetly make a great odd-couple partner combo.

    The BEST ACTION MOVIE SERIES!

Dear Reader, If you are hesitant about seeing/buying Lethal Weapon, don't be! If you like movies like Die Hard, James Bond, or Rambo, you will love Lethal Weapon. In the ''Director's Cut'' edition, there are added scenes from the original theatrical release. Rated ''NR'' for brief nudity, language, sexual themes, and violence.
