A five star series - for sure!

This series is smart, quirky, well written and just plain great fun. (I will admit that I would watch Timothy Hutton read the phone book - but fortunatly this show is so good, phone books are not required.) The entire cast, especially Christian Kane, are pitch-perfect. Leverage is a great addition to your DVD library - and a great way to spend a rainy afternoon. Enjoy!

    Wonderful

    Wonderful

I was given this season as a present. Became obsessed with it.

The series has a mastermind, con-woman, one man army, thief and hacker working together outside the law. They find politicians, corporations, judges, any form of corruption in the rich and powerful. Using there combined skills they expose the corruption and turn it against them. This show is highly entertaining and informative. Many of today's problems are demonstrated in an dramatic and amusing way. This series is outstanding.

"Leverage" Is A Modern Mission: Impossible And Just As Enjoyable

In December 2008 "Leverage" made its television premiere on cable channel TNT. The show runs on the premise that a group of five individuals who are high grade thieves in their own fields can work those skills together to bring down bad guys and bring justice to those that have been hurt by the bad guys.

Timothy Hutton is Nathan Ford, the head of the team and the only "good" guy. He is an ex-insurance investigator who learned all the tricks of a con and, therefore, knows how to run one. He is helped by Gina Bellman who plays Sophie whose character is the Grifter. She is the front person who spins the con. Then there is Aldis Hodge who plays Hardison the Hacker. He can break into anything including an airline's electronic system from 3,000 miles away. There is Christian Kane, the soft spoken Eliot, who is the Hitter. When there is a need for physicality Eliot is the person the team relies on. He is also very good at cooking and disguises. Finally there is Beth Riesgraf as Parker who is the Thief. While all of them are thieves she is incredible and has the ability to rappel down skyscrapers.

"Leverage" is like a 21st Century Mission: Impossible the 1960's show that also ran incredible cons using high class spies to save countries. Like them this five person team also uses the con to take down the bad guys and provide justice to the individuals that have been previously wronged and hurt.

CBS DVD (distributed by Paramount) has released Season 1 and Season 2 of Leverage" on DVD so, if you are like I was and missed the first season on TV then you can quickly catch up while staying current with Season Three which is currently airing. This is a wonderful series! This show is clever, smartly written, well acted and great fun to watch.

Could not wait for it to arrive

Love this show. The DVD has added footage that should not have been cut. I love the cast and crew. This is a show that takes you away for a minute and lets the good guy win. They are taking on current issues and winning. It is time for the good guys to win even if they are bad guys.
Can't wait for the next season. Only problem the seasons are too short. Keep up the good work.

    Great DVD Set

If you like the show, you will love the dvd. The commentary is at times as good as the show. Great insights into the development of the characters and about the actual order in which the series was shot.

    One of my favorites!

"Leverage", on TNT, quickly became my favorite show of 2008-2009. The writing, direction and stars are all top-notch. The premise is that of one honest man with a group of 4 thieves each with their own specialty. They start with a one-time job, get set-up and stage a double-cross on their "employer". The season is fun to watch as these 5 people form their own dysfunctional family. There is a little of Ocean's 11, Robin Hood and the A-Team to this show. There is quick, witty dialogue with enough action to keep people interested as you try to figure out the twist. This show is just another great example of how cable is now producing better dramas than the networks. I would highly recommend "Leverage - Season 1" and also to watch Season 2 which is split between late summer and this winter.
