Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
Supermodel Tyra Banks is a living doll and a surprisingly deft comedienne in this magical comedy originally broadcast on The Wonderful World of Disney. Charmer Lindsay Lohan -- who played the dual role of the plucky separated-at-birth twins in Disney's 1998 remake of The Parent Trap -- stars as Casey, a 13-year-old tomboy who has become a loner since the death of her mother. Guided by a mystical-spells website, she procures a Book of the Dead from the Occult section of the local antique bookstore and performs a ceremony to resurrect her mom. Instead, she unwittingly brings to life an unwanted birthday gift: an "Eve" doll. Banks is delightful as Eve, who is at once stereotypically vacuous ("It's fun to dress up. I look awesome!") and politically correct (she admonishes fur-wearers). Casey has four days to reverse the spell or it becomes permanent. Eve moves in with Casey and her distant, workaholic father (Jared Burns), but discovers that the real world is far different than her own perfect plastic world. Life-Size is an enchanting and surprisingly poignant fantasy for all ages and suggests that there will be bright lights after modeling for Ms. Banks.

Loved this movie. Lindsey Lohan is just a kid in here and plays this part well. Fantasy, magic and fun for all ages. Fun to watch a child make a wish and what happens (don't want to give anything away), but it is a very cute movie. 5 stars

This is a great movie for all, kids will love it and teenagers too. It has a great storyline... cheesy at some parts, but it include the 2 best people ever lindsay lohan and tyra banks. Who wouldn't want to see a model and a famous actress together?

As a mother of three children, I am devoted to raising my children with strong moral fibers and building their self-esteem so they may one day have the confidence to become doctors, lawyers, or even award winning scientists/daredevils. This movie almost singal-handedly thwarted all my parental efforts as a loving mother of three children. I had mistakenly allowed my daughter, Stacie, to rent this video. I figured Disney had always been a trustworthy family-friendly company. Oh boy, was I wrong. In fact, this movie, starring the sinful miss Lohan, teaches kids that it's 'not cool' to be a unique indivisual, but rather preaches conformity to popular (immoral) cliques and a highly vain consumerist lifestyle. Not to mention the highly sexualized image Tyra Banks portrays on impressionable minds. Shame on you Disney!
