Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
Welcome aboard as the Little Einstein team embarks on its maiden musical learning adventure (this DVD anticipates a Playhouse Disney series). A next-generation spin-off of the Baby Einstein franchise, Little Einsteins belongs to the "we need you" genre of interactive preschool programs such as Dora the Explorer and Blue's Clues. All the Little Einsteins love music. Leo conducts, June dances, Quincy plays instruments, and Annie sings. In Our Huge Adventure, the children board their trusty, gadget-equipped Rocket to transport a wayward caterpillar to the Musical Tree of Many Colors, where it can become a butterfly. Next stop, a caveside mailbox to retrieve the butterfly's invitation to his family party in Mexico. The Little Einstein team zooms past such national landmarks as the Statue of Liberty and Niagara Falls. The classical soundtrack features the music of Beethoven, with repeated renditions of the "Ode to Joy" theme. The series' distinctive look combines animation, live action, computer-generated backgrounds, and replications of artwork by Van Gogh (Wheat Field of Cypress) and Monet (Woman in a Garden). Musical terms are introduced to monitor Rocket's progress (allegro for faster, adagio for slower). Listening and observational skills also come into play. With its likable characters and encouraging and nurturing spirit, Little Einsteins looks to be huge!-

Excellent movie- has a little of everything kids love

It's a little long for my taste- I prefer she watch shorter episodes (less tv), but my 2 year old is sucked right in to the story, even though it seems a bit odd to me. Bugs, music, singing, dancing, adventure- what a fun combination! The animation is great, mixing the 2D characters with 3D realistic elements, artwork and classical music. I would recommend this one, especially if you child already loves Little Einsteins.

    Great....but bizarre

My 15 month old absolutely loves this series and is enthralled in a way like no other when this show is playing, but even the parents have to admit, sometimes this show is just bizarre, as exampled by one of the characters shaking her "bottom" to the silly sounds of "flub a dub a dub bu dub a dub a dub a" in a recent episode. Nonetheless, I'm certain the kids will continue to love this show.

    Excellent Series

My 20 month old has been watching this series for two months now and absolutely loves them. She participates along with the characters, dances to the music and "sings" along. The messages promoted are excellent. The children are introduced to classic and modern art. They are introduced to classical music in a fun, lively way as well as learn the different instruments from harpsichords to flutes to cymbals, etc. Something all toddlers and preschoolers should enjoy.

    Perfect for kids

This video, and the daily show for that matter, are by far one of the best on TV for younger children. I have a 4 and 2 year old who can't get enough of it. And I even catch my 7 year old watching it with them. The music is always the right tone and volume and it is educational and interactive. I suggest you get this for children of almost all ages. Can't wait for the next one to come out.
