Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
From the pyramids to San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, the Little Einsteins further broaden thier horizons as they take off on more interactive musical missions from the animated Playhouse Disney series. In the title story, conductor Leo, dancer June, instrumentalist Quincy, and singer Annie board their trusty rocket to Egypt, where they seek the golden harp that will open a pyramid and free the music that is trapped inside. In "The Dragon Kite," the close-knit music-loving quartet is off to China to search for missing kites in time for the Great Kite Parade. Making its debut on DVD is the episode "Annie and the Little Toy Plane," in which Annie helps a playful purple plane rescue a green helicopter. Each we-need-you adventure encourages audience participation, whether it's patting along to a beat to help their rocket get off the ground, or using counting skills and color recognition to advance the Little Einsteins. Each episode features a classical theme (Brahms' "Hungarian Dance No. 5" in "Golden Pyramid"), as well as representations of artifacts or artistic masterworks. The series' unique look combines animated characters, computer-generated backgrounds, and images of actual architectural landmarks from around the world. This admirable series is instrumental in introducing youngsters to the fine arts. Bravo.

DON'T BUY THIS DVD- IT'S A DISNEY SCAM

Don't fall for the Disney scam. Little Einsteins is an excellent program for our preschoolers, but the different parts of this DVD have already run on Disney Channel. The same thing happened with the other L.E. DVD's. Disney also ran Mickey Mouse saves Santa show on Disney Channel after promoting the DVD. Don't waste your money. The show will be on DC again. Record it and watch it for free. Doesn't Disney make enough $$ off families already?
