Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
You've got to hand it to the Ingallses: There isn't a hard heart they can't melt, a misfit they won't assimilate into the community, or a karmic obstacle they fail to overcome. In Season 2 of this beloved series based on the cherished Laura Ingalls Wilder books, Charles Ingalls (Michael Landon), his steadfast wife, Caroline (Karen Graddle), and daughters Laura (Melissa Gilbert), Mary (Melissa Sue Anderson), and Carrie (Lindsay Sidney Green Bush) reaffirm their commitment to each other and the community of Walnut Grove. Landon wrote and directed the opening and closing episodes, which are representative of this series' enduring appeal. "The Richest Man in Town" and "Going Home" extol the virtues of hard work, faith, and family ties, as Charles must work extra jobs to pay off his debts and considers returning to Wisconsin after a tornado wreaks havoc on his home and destroys his crops. Other notable episodes include the two-part tear-jerker, "Remember Me," in which Charles pledges to find a home for three orphaned children; the devastating "Soldier's Return," with guest star Richard Mulligan as a psyche-scarred Civil War veteran addicted to morphine; and "Ebenezer Sprague," in which Laura unwittingly befriends the town's new and unfriendly banker. "The Big Inning" is a rare comic outing in which Walnut Grove rallies to avenge a previous 36-0 loss to the Sleepy Eye Green Stockings baseball team. And it's always fun to watch despicable brat Nellie Oleson (Alison Arngrim) get her comeuppance in episode after episode -- especially "The Richest Man in Town," wherein Laura delivers a well-deserved sock to Nellie's nose.

A LOTTA LOVE IN A LITTLE HOUSE

LITTLE HOUSE SEASON TWO EPISODES HAVE BROUGHT TO MY FAMILY AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE NEED TO PULL TOGETHER TO FACE THE CHALLENGES OF LIFE. THE ENTIRE INGALLS FAMILY HAVE BROUGHT BACK REFRESHING TRADITIONAL VALUES THAT HAVE BEEN THE HALLMARK OF THIS GREAT COUNTRY AND THE GIVING SPIRIT OF AMERICANS.

    Little House Rocks!!!

I Love Little House on the Prairie and I think you would too! The stories are mainly based on the Ingalls a family of 5 and all of the tearful and joyful adventures that happen to them! Michael Landon plays Charles Ingalls the husband and father! Michael plays a hyper, childish man! Who's full of energy! Karen Grassle plays Caroline Ingalls the mother and wife! Karen plays a very sweet, kind, and caring mother and wife! She also has a very bad temper and when she gets her bad temper I say that she is very funny! Melissa Sue Anderson plays the oldest daughter Mary Ingalls! Melissa is a very beautiful 12 year old girl! Mary is very shy and beautiful girl she has long blonde hair and gorgeous light blue eyes! Being the oldest isn't easy but Mary does a wonderful job! Melissa Gilbert plays the middle daughter Laura Ingalls! Laura is a hyper, energetic, and loving tom boy! Who really brings most of the action into the show because of her always getting into fights with bratty Nellie Oleson or getting into trouble and running off! And last but not least Lindsay and Sidney Greenbush play the youngest daughter Carrie Ingalls! Carrie is a sweet, and fun 5 year old girl who is always smiling when shes on the set! Carrie also is a little trouble maker so watch out for Carrie! On the episode At the end of the rainbow Laura and her friend find gold and Laura dreams of being rich! She even dreams of naming the town Ingallsville! On the episode A Matter of Faith Charles takes his daughters on a trip and Caroline stays home and she cuts her leg on a rusty nail, it gets infected and she reads a bible verse if your leg is wounded cut it off! On the episodes Remember Me parts 1 and 2 Mr. Edwards marrys Grace Snider and they adopt 3 chidren! There are also many other episodes on Season 2 that you will love!!!
