Well put together. Guy Ritchie is not afraid to entertain with wit, humor, and fluid stories.

Lock, stock and two smoking barrels is a thrill ride of a movie. It is so twisted that it is funny. The 4 lovable but slacker lads that star in this movie make you remember what youthful indiscretions can be like and what trouble it can lead to. Sting is brilliant as the tough as nails, stand up Dad of the one of the main characters who only wants his son to stay on the straight and narrow. But the true anti-hero of the this movie and the one to keep your eye on. He is the 'muscle' for the top mobster. He is a dichodomy - both a gangster and a caring father in his own right. All characters are brilliantly portrayed and the bumbling gangsters will make you howl.

This is lively, fast moving, witty and amusing. Lots of violence hinted because the hints are all you need. Delicately played, believable characters, realistic plot (it really does have a plot), no special effects (hurrah!)and an excellent ending. Worth every penny.

It seems most movies these days are so boring with their single minded plots that there is almost nothing to captivate the viewer and keep their mind going. On the opposite end of the spectrum is LOCK STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS. Right from the start the action and deciet get going and do not end until the movie does. It starts with four young criminals raising money to gamble in the big leagues. Once there, however, they find themselves with one week to payback half a million pounds. In their efforts to scam and steal this money, they end up getting involved with the biggest drug dealers in London. The plot is masterfully designed with a twists that keep in coming. To get the money, they steal from a group of thugs that have just robbed the drug dealers. Then they get it stolen back from then. This scenario plays on until the end when everyone else is dead and they have no money and two antique shotguns. Throughout the film the director uses brilliant cinematography that captures the action and plot changes as smoothly as possible. This movie is not simply a shoot 'em up action thriller. It is filled with hilarious cockney dialect that keeps the movie from being too serious. In all, LOCK STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS is one of the most innovative movies on the market today and deserves to be seen by all.

This movie is a dark comedy with an unimagineable twist! It's so calm, yet hilarious at the same time. You HAVE to see it!
