The package then includes the sequel, Return to Lonesome Dove (1993), with Jon Voight stepping into the Jones role as Call, joining forces with his son Newt to ward off some violent fellow ranchers. Streets of Laredo (1995) casts James Garner in the Call role, as the character attempts to bring a psychopathic killer to justice. Finally, Dead Man's Walk constitutes a prequel to the original Lonesome Dove, following Gus and Woodrow's adventures as young cowboys.

    Highly recommended.

More accurate presentation of cowboy life than most films: be prepared for surprises in the story line: will keep you involved for the whole story.
