Bugs and Daffy co-host a series of deleted scenes. The pair also lead viewers through a tour of the film's set and provide commentary on a featurette concerned with the film's special effects. That last feature will be the most interesting for those with an interest in animation, but fans of the two characters will get a kick out of all the extras. Lastly, so as not to disappoint fans of the other most famous pair in the Looney Tunes world, the disc includes a new short cartoon, Whizzard of Ow, starring Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner. This is a solid release from Warner Bros.

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
The anarchic spirit of "Termite Terrace" -- birthplace to the holy ‘toon trinity of Porky, Daffy, and Bugs -- is strong within director Joe Dante. The Gremlins maestro unleashes his inner Tex Avery and Chuck Jones with this madcap comedy that adds luster to the Warner Bros. stable of wildly unstable characters. The story has something to do with a frantic cross-country odyssey to retrieve Daffy, who has been unjustly fired by a clueless Warner Bros. exec (Jenna Elfman). Accompanying her is DJ Drake (Brendan Fraser), a studio security guard who has also been unceremoniously bounced. Bugs is also along for the ride to supply a steady stream of wisecracks and wreak the usual animated mayhem. There is also some nonsense about Drake's movie star dad (Timothy Dalton) being an actual secret agent, and the sinister head of the dreaded Acme Corporation (Steve Martin) plotting to make a monkey of everyone, literally. But never mind: All that matters is the breakneck barrage of non sequiturs, movie references, gratuitous product placements, cameos (Heather Locklear, Joan Cusack), and in-joke appearances by colleagues from Dante's B-movie days (Mary Woronov, Dick Miller, Roger Corman). Back in Action slam-dunks Space Jam on every level, most impressively in the seamless integration of live-action, animation, and clever writing. The sequence in which Elmer chases Bugs and Daffy through a succession of masterpieces in the Louvre is suitable for framing in its own right. And whoever came up with the idea of making Yosemite Sam a Las Vegas saloon owner is not being paid enough. Looney Tunes may have been a box-office disappointment, but expect this unjustly neglected gem to see plenty of action on home video.
All Movie Guide - Craig Butler
Looney Tunes: Back in Action is a frenetic and fast-paced live action-animation blend that may not be a true classic but which packs in more than enough fun to make it worth watching, especially for cartoon fanatics. Looney is overall a good zany time and comes about as close to capturing some of the magic of the cartoon characters from their heyday as is possible. Of course, there's also the live action portion of the film to contend with, and it's undoubtedly true that the "real" people in Looney get the short end of the stick. After all, how can flesh-and-blood actors compete with the likes of Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny? It's not that they don't try or that they don't do well. Brendan Fraser is about as appealing as one could wish, and Jenna Elfman is deliciously corporate. And Steve Martin, in over the top mode, still can't compete with real toons, but he gives it a good college try. Still, there's an imbalance between reality and "cartoon-ity" that persists throughout the film and weakens it a bit, as does the fact that even Joe Dante's wild direction can't keep the frantic pace up without it becoming a tad wearing. Still, when Looney is in top form -- as when Elmer Fudd is chasing Daffy and Bugs through the Louvre or when the characters are in a wonderful sci-fi land -- Looney is tremendously engaging.

    LOVE this DVD!!

I first watched this movie when I was a 12 year old girl, and I still love it today! This movie is for all ages! I am very happy I have finally bought this DVD. This movie is so fun, funny, and charming. The animation is brilliant and my favorite actor Brendan Fraser is in it! The plot is exciting and hilarious and everytime I watch this movie I am loving it all over again. The special features included on this dvd are awesome! You get to have a look behind the scenes of the making of the movie and even get a bonus new Looney Tunes episode of Wile Cyote and Roadrunner! A wonderful buy for such a low price!
