From the first harrowing, heart-stopping moments of its record-breaking $12 million pilot to the closing scenes of the season finale, Lost is a roller-coaster ride the likes of which hasn't been seen since Dr. Richard Kimball took to the road in search of the one-armed man. Emboldened by the success of Fox’s thriller 24, which similarly employed an ambitious narrative arc, ABC took a chance on Lost’s daring concept: Survivors of a plane crash wash up on a mysterious tropical island, where the hardships include starvation and clashing personalities, as well as some sort of evil creature, a weird metal hatch, and...a polar bear. The talented cast -- along with supernatural twists and strange occurrences cooked up by the creative team -- made Lost an instant TV hit and make it an even greater delight on DVD. Matthew Fox heads up the 13 regular characters as Jack, a doctor who becomes the leader of the ragtag group. Filling out the cast are: Kate (Evangeline Lilly), a beautiful girl with a dark secret; bad boy Sawyer (the mesmerizing Josh Holloway); Sun (Yunjin Kim) and Jin (Daniel Dae Kim), a Korean couple whose marriage is on the rocks; father-and-son team Michael (Harold Perrineau Jr.) and Walt (Malcolm David Kelley); devoted stepsiblings Boone (Ian Somerhalder) and Shannon (Maggie Grace); former rock star and heroin addict Charlie (Dominic Monaghan); good-hearted Hurley (Jorge Garcia), who provides comic relief; former Iraqi Republican Guardsman Sayid (Naveen Andrews); Claire (Emilie de Ravin), whose pregnancy survived the crash; and philosophical survivalist John Locke (the fantastic Terry O'Quinn). Each episode focuses on one or more of the characters' lives, and through a combination of flashbacks and current events on the island, the audience is introduced to a felon, a murderer, a lottery winner, a torturer, and a Mob enforcer, among others. If we had to choose the best episodes of the season, they would have to be: the Emmy-nominated "Walkabout," in which we learn the truth about Locke; "Hearts and Minds," an episode that delves into the strange backstory of Boone and Shannon; "Outlaws," which examines Sawyer's disturbing childhood; and the season-closing "Do No Harm," in which Claire's baby is born just as a major cast member exits.

The item was shipped and received quickly, we were happy with that. However, the item was described as "like new" and when we received the item, the outer sleeve was missing and there was a liquid stain on the back side with worn edges. The item was not as described.

This is the best thing to come on TV since...well...nothing. You can't compare this to anything. There's no character I don't like, and you can never see where the story is going. (my favorite character is "Locke")

I was totally blown away by Lost. I mostly watch crime drama's, so I wasn't that interested in this show, but then i decided to watch the 1st episode and I was hooked! It's great to have on DVD so you can go back and watch episodes and look for clues! Lost has an amazing cast and you won't be able to stop watching!

Easily the Best show on television currently. If you are looking for drama, great characters, a great plot, a great mystery, and great scenery this is the show for you. From the opening scene of the plane crash to the cliffhanger of what was down the "hatch", this show has it all ! I re-watched the dvd before watching the new season, and I did not realize how many subplots and signs that I missed. That is the beauty of the DVD ! Hopefully, you are now watching Season 2 ! Gotta love Echo !

I saw the commercials of the newest show on ABC and couldn't wait...I seen every episode...I can't wait till Tues. I watched an episode i taped which was the one where they all thought Jin set the raft on fire...in the flashback he has you see the little girl on the couch with her dog if you look at the tv you see Hurley on the tv!i wonder what else we all missed in the random episodes! I can't wait to see all the behind the scenes things and all the shows again! The Acting is so great too. Buy this DVD you won't regret it!! :)

I wasn't very surprised when I heard that they were making a series about a plane crash, having 48 people stranded on a tropical island. It sounds too much like "Gilligan's Island". But when I watched the pilot I was ashamed for comparing it with Gilligan's Island. The series is very addictive, having intense cliffhangers at the end of each episode, wanting to learn more about the characters that are stuck on this island, wondering what is lurking in the forest beyond their plane crash. With each new episode brings a new twist, and unlike other 'stranded' movies where the main plot is trying to get out of the isolated island, this series plot is much deeper. I guess I'm not suppose to tell you about what happens in this wonderful drama. But still,I will say just this: You learn the characters through flash backs of what happened to them before the plane crash, and there reasons to why they were on that plane in the first place. I suppose one common thing about all the characters is they all seem to have gone through something horrible. And maybe they were all on that island for a reason...dun, dun, dunnn.... One thing I don't like this series is that it is not for impatient people.

Lost is hands-down the best show on network television. If you haven't watched, you have a lot of catching up to do. So it's a good thing Seasons 1-4 are available on DVD. Season 1 starts off with the most action-packed episode I've ever seen on TV. Find out why Locke doesn't want to leave the island, why Kate is a fugitive, why Sawyer is such a self-loathing but hot con-man, and why resident tubster Hurley hasn't lost any weight?

Lost is a brillent show. If you have never seen it before you should start watching it. This DVD has amazing bonus faetures. It is defently worth the money to go out and by this DVD. It wouldn't be the series that sits on a self getting dusty, it would be something you would like to watch over and over again.

Got hooked on the characters during re-runs on SciFi channel, but really didn't understand what was going on. Watching the first season in order has been really helpful. We're about 3/4 of the way through now... can hardly wait to finish and then watch the special features!

Now that I finally got to experience "Lost" for myself I can certainly see what everyone around me is raving about. I didn't watch it when it came out because I'm not really a TV person and following shows is hard for me on weekly basis so I decided to wait till few season finished to later watch them all in one swoop. For someone who doesn't watch the telly I plowed through this show ferociously and in six days was done with season one.

First of all, I simply adore the lost in the woods and deserted island stories, books, films you name it. The drama that unfolds in this series has the same elements that can be found anywhere, rivalry, jealousy, hatred, love, false accusations, hidden secrets and all sorts of emotions take over characters as their time on the island seems to extend into eternity. The cast of characters is very broad but I adore how many main personalities there are because of the myriad of adventures that follow each and the groups they form themselves. One would think that staying calm and friendly would be one way to survive, but hunger, lack of protection from elements and the erratic ways the human behavior can change are no match for what really awaits for them on the island.

The island they are stranded on is not your average lush tropical retreat. Not only is the island inhabited by strange creatures and monsters you don't really get to see at first but there is talk of others, dark beings that are either sinister people or something even worse. Best way to watch this is without knowing anything about it so I am not going to divulge any more details, let me just say that there are very few slow moments and most of the time things go from crazy to insane. My favorite characters so far are John Locke played by Terry O'Quinn and Sayid played by Naveen Andrews. One never knows if the characters are really pure at heart because there are so many wild twists but man this show rocks, I love it. The moment I finished watching season one I started with season two and few episodes into it I am just as enchanted as I was with the first. The revelations are incredible and the mysteries only seem to grow in size and danger. This is one show that I wish could go on forever, I hope there will be many more seasons to come.

One of the best TV shows to air is ABC's LOST. I will only be talking about the first season of LOST, and why you should watch it. This show is about a group of people who survive a plane crash and end up on an island. So what makes landing on this island so special and why should you watch this show? Well the island that these people land on is no ordinary island. Surviving on the island is their main goal, all 47 who survived. After a week of realizing and accepting the fact that nobody will come to rescue them, they had to build shelter and find water and food to survive. This part of the survival was always interesting. What specifically would they have to do in order to survive? It's obvious that they had to find food, water and shelter, but how? They split up in groups and helped each other survive. Their leader Jack told them that they had to work together if they want to survive. When the survivor's first figure out that they are not alone on the island it really spiced things up a bit, the survivors call these people The Others. I think these "Others" add a lot to this season. The reason being is because nobody knows who they are or where they come from, and the big question "what do they want''? Later on in the season the survivors then become aware that an Other has been disguising themselves as a survivor. This event really took a big turn on the show; I was literally jumping up and down when I discovered this. If you want to watch a show that will keep you jumping up and down for more and to watch a little survival of the fittest then this is the show for you!

I probably watch more TV than I should, but I've honestly never seen a show like this before. It's created such a cult, of which I am proud to say I am a member. If you've never seen it, be warned...you will become addicted by the end of the first hour! (Or, rather, the end of the first 42 or so minutes. Stupid commercials.) As if the amazing character development wasn't enough, the writers have created several intelligent, very complex mysteries, which will keep you up at night wondering. And finally, for the ladies (or some of the men, I guess), one of my favorite parts of the show: the incredible, gorgeous Josh Holloway as Sawyer, the resident not-really-all-that-bad boy. He's more likable and sympathetic every time you see him, thanks in large part to Josh's (I like to think we're on a first-name basis) excellent performance. The rest of the cast is also amazing--Terry O'Quinn is brilliant as John Locke, and really deserved to get the Emmy for which he was nominated. At least the show won. I'm really amazed Lost has done as well as it has so far--normally something this unbelievably good would be unjustly ignored. It partially restores my faith in the American people that it hasn't. You might think that this is a ridiculously fawning review, but trust me (and 20 million other people)--Lost is just that good.

Season One of Lost is amazing! Even if you are just someone who occasionally follows the show or an all out fan, this show rocks! For those of you that like drama, action, adventure, and mystery, this is the show for you. Flashbacks flesh out the character's back story and each episode leaves questions to be answered. Highly reccomend

My wife, son and I decided to pick up this DVD on a whim. We new very little about the series and do not watch much TV. What a treat! We are hooked. We truely enjoy the show. It is clean (especially by today's standards) exciting and you want to know the characters. We have been watching a few episodes a night and it makes for great family time. We would highly recommend it.

This has got to be the best show on TV! This has humor, mystery, shockers, and twists all in one! It should have one an award, but that freakin show " Desperate Housewives" won instead! My fave characters are Lock, Boone, Harley, and the outcast, Sawyer. The show is unraveling alot of secrets. The writer to this is brilliant! I can't wait until the second season.

I cannot wait to get the first season of LOST on DVD. This is a show that has such well written characters that you feel that you know them personally! There are things that do not make sense when you take it at face value in this show that are all tied together to make the most suspensful twisted plot-line of any show currently on TV! Watch the episodes a second or third time and you pick up clues that are so subtle you'll be shocked! I gaurantee you will love this show and you'll want to introduce it to anyone who missed out when it aired on TV!

I have never been this captivated by a television show. It is so well acted, without frills on the situation. The characters are facsinating and it is such a joy to watch.

You need this DVD. First episode, I was hooked. Sure some of the things that go on on the island are a bit.. bizarre. Suspension of disbelief people. Keep that in mind and you will adore this show. I can't wait for the DVD so i can keep going back and rewatching episodes to catch the tiny clues. Ever notice how many characters make cameos during other characters' back stories? It's great touches like those that make this a show you'd watch more than once.
