Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide - Karl Williams
Like so many other low-budget, independent films, this effort by writer and director Valerie Breiman is that least expensive and most dreaded of Generation-X cinematic projects, a romantic comedy. However, in a year of several surprisingly effective indie offerings from the genre, including The Tao of Steve and Smiling Fish & Goat on Fire, Love & Sex joins the fray ably with an intelligent and funny script, skilled stars, and a zippy pace. Seemingly mismatched leads Jon Favreau and Famke Janssen serve up generous portions of genuine chemistry, with memorable supporting work from Cheri Oteri and an underused Ann Magnuson. If Favreau's neurotic artist is a bit too consciously modeled on the oft-seen nebbish played by Woody Allen, this mimicry, as well as an occasional foray into the style of television sitcoms, are the screenplay's only real flaws. Breiman's facility with her cast marks her as a talent to watch.

    Great Movie

It might be kind of silly, but it is a really sweet and funny story that is beautifully acted by Jon Favreau and Famke Janssen. I've seen it at least a dozen times, and I never get bored with it.

    A really awesome movie....definitely a keeper.

This movie has it all!! The cast is excellent and the writing is superb. This is a movie that will always be near your DVD player(not excluding VHS). This is one of the best relationship movies I have ever seen, and, I am a guy, who really loves it. I recommend it to everyone.

Love It, Love It, Love It!

I have seen this movie so many times I can't even count, and it's great everytime. My husband and I watch it together and just crack up. There's someone for everyone to relate to here in this flick.

    Watch this movie!

I love this movie! It is very feel-goody in a non-mushy sort of way with a 'True love prevails' message. Fabulous whether you are in a relationship, going thru a break up, or just in the mood for a couch-potato, popcorn-eating, stay-in-and-enjoy-the-show kind of night!

    A great indie film.

At heart, this movie is a very sweet love story between the characters of Kate and Adam, and how jealous they both become after a bad break-up. The movie also explores women's sexuality, as Kate goes from man to man, and ends up in a porno store shopping for... well lets just say she wants to pleasure herself without a man's help. Look for SNL's Cherie Oteri in a cameo role.
