Overview

The classic 1970s TV series M*A*S*H comes to DVD in a three-disc set titled M*A*S*H: Season One. Each of these episodes are presented in their original 1.33:1 full frame aspect ratio and look to be in the best shape they've ever been. While there are some inherent flaws in the image (Including some dirt and washed out colors), overall these episodes will surpass viewer's expectations because of their dark black levels and bright color patterns. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 1.0 mono in English (with an optional laugh track) and French. The soundtrack is not quite as enticing as the video presentation -- while the mix is generally clear of most excessive hiss or distortion, overall the track often sounds flat with dynamic range lacking. Also included on these discs are English and Spanish subtitles. Fans will need a doctor themselves after they find out that this popular TV show's DVD set is completely void of any extra features.

    Perfect!

I am a 23 year old boy from Denmark. I have seen MASH all my life and I find it very good. The actors play magnificent, and both the story and direction are perfect

M*A*S*H A Timeless Masterpiece for the Ages

I was 21 when M*A*S*H first came on, I enjoyed it then and I enjoy it now. Having taped most of the episodes from reruns, I can't tell you enough of how elated i am that the seasons are becoming available on DVD. What is there about Dr.'s chasing women, drinking and bucking authority that's not to like? Every cast member had their own personality, and every transition was realistic...If ever a show should be put into a time capsule (for future generations) M*A*S*H is it. I've watched M*A*S*H season I over & over and can't wait for season II to be released

    I give it 10 stars

I could watch the episodes over and over, and often do. Absolutely the best show ever.

    Outstanding

I am 16 and have been a MASH fan for only a few months, but I love the show. It is both heartwarming and hiliarious. The show has depth, drama, and humor. I can't wait for the other seasons to come out on DVD.

    M*A*S*H Rules

I grew up watching MASH and I was so glad that the series was put on DVD. I can't wait for season 2 and I hope they hurry up with the rest of the series. It is really great to see how it all began.

Classic Series on a quality format

M*A*S*H is part of my youth, and this 3DVD set recaptures it in a high quality package. Who needs extras when you have so much of the original product for your money. Roll on Series 2

    At last!

This first season of episodes is an impressive DVD for the content alone, with episodes like ''Yankee Doodle Doctor'', ''Cowboy'', and ''Tuttle'' to name but three of my favorites. While there are, alas, no extras on these DVDs, there is something better: An option to watch without the laugh track. I'm making my way through the first season without guffaws and hoo-has and it changes the viewing experience considerably. (If you've seen the last episode, ''Goodbye, Farewell and Amen'', you have an idea of what this is like.) In the first season the show's maturation process is already apparent. The picture is excellent, and the sound mix is quite good over my 3-speaker setup. Highly reccomended, and a terrific value (24 episodes).
