By this point in the show's lengthy history, the cast consisted of Alan Alda as Hawkeye Pierce, Mike Farrell as B.J. Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Christina Urban
M*A*S*H continued its comedy tradition with 1978-79's Season 7, a year that saw it hit No. 7, ironically enough, in the Nielsen ratings. It was also the first season to feature 25 episodes about the hardworking 4077th, rather than the typical 24. Alan Alda (Hawkeye) wrote or directed five tales this season, and Mike Farrell (B.J.) takes his first turn behind the camera for the buddy tale featuring Klinger (Jamie Farr) and Charles (David Ogden Stiers), "Ain't Love Grand." After seven years the series is far from losing steam, as evidenced by a number of outstanding episodes found on this three-disc set. Margaret (Loretta Swit) files for divorce from philandering husband Col. Donald Penobscot while Hawkeye crashes the Panmunjom peace talks in "Peace on Us"; real-life journalist Clete Roberts returns to the 4077th in "Our Finest Hour" to follow up on the interviews he conducted back in Season 4; Father Mulcahy (William Christopher) puts himself in danger after he's passed over for promotion again in "An Eye for a Tooth"; and Alan Alda won an Outstanding Writing Emmy for the episode "Inga," in which Mariette Hartley guest stars as a brilliant Swedish doctor who upstages a smitten Hawkeye. But the best M*A*S*H outing of the season -- and one of the most unique television episodes ever produced -- is "Point of View." In this episode the camera goes behind the eyes of injured soldier Private Rich, and the audience gets to experience everything the young man sees and hears, from the moment he's wounded, to the operating room, to post-op. Although it lacks special features, having the complete Season 7 -- in broadcast rather than production order, purists will be glad to know -- is definitely the prescription for any M*A*S*H fan.

I was so glad to hear that the DVD Mash series was going to continue. M*A*S*H was one of the best t.v series of all time. And in my opinion, the series got better as it went on. Season seven has tons of great episodes. And, if you are a fan of M*A*S*H you must buy the DVD.
