Best in show for the Macross Universe

This was the show that finally pulled my interest into Japanese anime. Some of the sharpest art design and most interesting concepts from the Macross Universe (known as Robotech in the USA) are seen in this four part miniseries (also condensed into a movie version), and it was my first taste of Shinichiro Watanabe's (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) work as a director. Great action, good characters, and a solid plot all make this a worthwhile purchase for anime and sci-fi fans alike.
