• "Romantic Improvisations" -- Paul Paul Reiser and Jamie Buchman Helen Hunt are newlyweds adjusting to Manhattan life. In the debut episode, their scheduled evening alone goes terribly awry.
• "Sofa's Choice" -- Jamie and Paul's first major purchase becomes a disaster when Paul manages to hyperventilate at a Manhattan department store.
• "Sunday Times" -- Paul and Jamie enjoy a quiet Sunday with nothing to do except decide what to do. It isn't long, however, before their friends intrude.

• "Riding Backwards" -- On a Thanksgiving trip with Jamie's parents, Paul and Jamie are doing fine, Mark Richard Kind and Fran Leila Kenzle begin to fight, while Selby Tommy Hinkley and Lisa Anne Ramsay are just friends. The return journey, however, is a different story.
• "Neighbors from Hell" -- The Buchmans get off on the wrong foot with their neighbors, and each attempt to improve relations only makes matters worse.
• "Met Someone" -- The story of how Jamie and Paul met is revealed, beginning with a chance encounter and then some hard work by Paul to locate Jamie and ask her out.
• "Maid About You" -- The Buchmans find their new once-a-week maid a big help, but she's heartbroken that her affection for "Mr. Paul" is unrequited.
• "Togetherness" -- Producer Jamie hires Paul as the director for the New York City tourism campaign, but she soon finds out how much togetherness is too much.
• "Weekend Getaway" -- An escape to the countryside soon has Jamie wanting to stay permanently, make apples, till the soil, and run a Chinese restaurant.
• "The Wedding Affair" -- After unwittingly revealing a secret about a bride-to-be, Paul badgers Jamie into telling him one of hers, and soon regrets it.
• "Love Among the Tiles" -- What should a couple do when trapped in their bathroom on Valentine's Day? Paul and Jamie show the way, with amusing results.
• "The Billionaire" -- An energetic, eccentric billionaire wants Paul to make a film about him. Meanwhile Paul's new editor/cameraman is anything but energetic.
• "The Man Who Said Hello" -- Paul's father has 15 minutes of fame after an incident with Regis Philbin, but Paul is soon viewed as an overbearing son by the entire city.
• "Swept Away" -- Jamie thinks that Lisa and her new boyfriend are moving too fast in their relationship, especially when they decide to move in together after a week.
• "The Spy Who Loved Me" -- Jamie's new client is an old TV star idolized by Paul and Ira in their childhood, and they soon revert to the old ways and compete for his attention.
• "The Painter" -- Jamie hires an ex-boyfriend to paint the apartment and becomes annoyed when Paul isn't concerned by the prospect of her old flame being alone with her.
• "Happy Anniversary" -- At the Buchmans' first anniversary party, love blossoms between Warren Steven Wright and Connie Meagen Fay while Paul tries to turn back the clock, but there's no love lost between the now-separated Fran and Mark.
