In Mannequin, a lame attempt to revive the style and panache of fantasy-tinged romantic comedies of the '30s and '40s, Andrew McCarthy stars as a department store window-dresser who discovers that one of his mannequins Kim Cattrall is actually a woman from ancient Egypt when she becomes animated one evening. She then inspires him to become the most expressive window-dresser the business has ever seen. Of course, there is intrigue involving a rival department store's attempt to drive the good guys out of business, and together the two store-crossed lovers must combat the forces of evil to save the day. There is no real mystery about what will happen in the course of the film; it all seems color-by-numbers. The only thing unique about Mannequin is its uniquely bad and illogical script, which has holes larger than the Grand Canyon. Mannequin was a surprise box-office hit, earning nearly 25 million dollars in just under a month of its release -- no small feat considering its miniscule budget and seeming lack of appeal to any particular demographic. It spawned an inferior sequel, Mannequin Two: On the Move, reaffirming the belief that anything is possible. In spite of being panned by critics across the board, it did manage to receive one accolade -- its theme, "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now," was nominated by the Academy for Best Song.

    move over Mannequin number 2 is way better

    okay so i love The Mannequin but Mannequin 2 on the move is way better and funnier still in all i love both movies there great!

    Mannequin: Great love story.

    I saw this movie when it first came out and really liked it. Kim Catrell and Andrew McCarthy have great chemistry. It is pure escapism. The music is super.<BR/><BR/>Everyone I show it to loves it including my daughters and granddaughters. They all love it.

    LOVE IT

    Jonathan is considered an artist. He creates this mannequin, but it's the only one that he finishes. He gets fired from that job and a few more before landing a job at the department store where his beloved mannequin is. She comes to life at night and only he can see. Emmy helps him with the window display promoting his position in the company. The second mannequin revolves around a magical necklace.

    Mannequin Mannequin 2 Two Great movies together

    First there's the Mannequin a love story about a man Jonathon Switcher actor Andrew Mcarthy who falls in love with a mannequin named Emmy But she's a mannequin And he's the only one who can talk to her So Jonathon and Emmy end up together married happily then Mannequin 2 On The Move a pretty blonde mannequin fom an old century played by Kristy Swason the manequin's name is Jesse she wears a necklace by taking of the necklace she comes alive and a man Jason keeps her Now she's seeing how the world has changed from the old century she once lived in So you'll be satisfied cause not only will you get Mannequin but you'll get Mannequin 2 On The Move So 2 great movies I'ts a double feature!!!!
