Overview

Dana Carvey ventures into the world of PG-rated, family-oriented entertainment as star and co-writer of this light adventure comedy, which requires the actor to assume more than three dozen different identities. Carvey's primary role in Master of Disguise, however, is that of Pistachio Disguisey, an ordinary waiter with a hidden, mostly untapped talent for transforming himself into any persona he wishes. When his kindly parents, Mama Edie McClurg and Frabbrizio James Brolin, are kidnapped by the evil thief Devlin Brent Spiner, the usually meek Pistachio is forced to rescue them. Enlisting the help of his grandfather Harold Gould, Pistachio learns that he is one of a long line of family members to have the power of "Energico," a mystical means of changing one's identity to suit any given situation, and Pistachio learns to use these powers to their fullest to defeat Devlin and win back his folks. Carvey's original idea for Master of Disguise was helped to the screen by executive producer Adam Sandler, a buddy of his from their time on NBC's Saturday Night Live.

Dana Carvey IS the Master of Disguises

It's a silly, fun movie. Kids like it. Lots of gross-humor stuff. First time I did not care for it, but second time it was better. It's silly fun. Dana Carvey is great at all his inpersonations. Very likeable guy.

    So silly it's hysterical

Our whole family LOVES this movie. Some of it is so bad it's good, and some of it is just brilliant. The whole cast is excellent, from the Poppa's deadpan reactions to the Grandfather's creative insults. It'll appeal to your 8-year-old and your mentally-8-year-old adults too. And you know who you are! Sublimely inane. I just wish they'd release a director's cut. Obviously there is a LOT they cut out.

    Master of disaster! :(

this is probably one of THE WORST movies ever! I mean, there is no plot, the characters are stupid and the movie itself is just plain wrong. the humor is just flat out ridiculous! my advice, skip the movie!

    I dunno

I think the movie was great especially when he made the snake a little sweater. And you can never forget '' become anutter person become anutter person'' so that was good and well this is the end i guess.

    Comedy?! More like HORROR!

If you have any sense whatsoever, you will STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOVIE!!! If you even call it a movie! I call it something Dana Carvey did to get himself back on the road to stardom...and it didn't work. I like Dana Carvey and I thought he was hillarious on SNL but I mean this totally makes him look bad. The TURTLE TURTLE thing was so horrifying...and pointless. Who decided this was supposed to be a FAMILY movie??? It would scare the kids out of the room!!! A positive thing about this ''movie'' (yes, there is something positive) is the two seconds of funniness when the evil person laughs for about 20 seconds and suddenly toots, silencing him. But sadly, the tiny sliver of humor is spoiled by the overuse of the joke. By the time it's shown for the 4th time, it becomes really banal and expected. People, for the love of GOD, don't even LOOK at the cover of the DVD! This is seriously the worst movie ever made. For those who beg to differ, I warn you not to prove me wrong because you'll regret it terribly.

A slightly stupid but funny movie!

This was a really funny movie . Some people (like the person who wrote the review before me) don't find much humor in this movie, BUT I DO! It was a great movie to watch with my brother. I 'd reccommend it to anyone who likes funny and occasionally rude humor.
