I did a marathon viewing of this DVD, and the episodes get more

I did a marathon viewing of this DVD, and the episodes get more interesting as the season goes along, ending with the Christmas
celebration, which was totally enjoyable. The season revolves around secrets that many of the characters have, so there are numerous
plot lines going on, and there are also a few unlikely alliances, as well as some surprises. One of the characters will be leaving the
show, and there is the beginning of a plot line that could elevate Edith, who has always taken a back seat to Mary, into a very successful
business woman. As always, the scenery is fabulous, and although 1924, when this season takes place, is not one of my favorite
years for fashion,  the costumes are very nice. This season continues the theme that the role of the English aristocracy and their large
estates is rapidly changing, and the Crawley family must adjust to this change in order to preserve Downton Abbey.
