In the program, Hudson played San Francisco Police Commissioner Stewart "Mac" McMillan - a man whose beautiful wife, Sally (Susan St. James) repeatedly stumbled onto criminal cases and pulled him into them. The two then set about solving the cases together, with lots of tension and intermittent doses of humor. The series spent most of its run as one-third of the rotating NBC Mystery Movie, and maintained high ratings throughout. Season two, which contained seven episodes, ran from September 1972 through April 1973; it appears in its entirety in this box set. Installments include The Night of the Wizard and Cop of the Year.
