Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble
When Megadeth recorded Rude Awakening, the band’s first live disc, they couldn’t have imagined that it might also be their last. However, after guitarist Dave Mustaine damaged a nerve in his arm early in 2002, he announced that he was walking away from live performance to rehabilitate. The injury was devastating for Mustaine, who, after being booted from Metallica, went on to form one of the fastest, angriest bands in history. With a combination of mind-blowing guitar licks and darkly satiric lyrics, Megadeth rose to the forefront of heavy metal. This two-disc set is packed with extra features, including interviews, b-roll footage, and a rare studio recording of "The World Needs a Hero." If Rude Awakening turns out to be Megadeth’s final performance, they’ve gone out in a blaze of glory.
