Overview

Volume 5 introduces some new faces to the team, and kicks off with an explosive two-part special which sees Britain on the verge of anarchy. A series of sinister terror strikes -- combined with chronic fuel shortages -- has plunged Britain into crisis. As a desperately weakened Prime Minister fights to hold onto power, the public mood turns increasingly rebellious. MI-5 head Harry Pearce (Peter Firth) and team leader Adam Carter (Rupert Penry-Jones) begin to face the horrifying possibility that the country is under attack from sinister forces right at the heart of the establishment. So begins a dangerous game of bluff and counter-bluff. The 10 episodes of MI-5 (originally titled Spooks in the U. K.) aired on BBC1 in 2006, and aired in the U. S. on cable net A&E.

MI-5 is an edge of your seat watch!! They are not afraid to kill off key characters and they continually get very good actors to replace those who have left. It is such a fast paced, nail biting show that you find yourself holding your breath at times. Pretty intense! The story lines are interesting and informative. It gives you a look at the behind closed doors politics and how other countries are perceived by their british allies. It truly makes you wonder how many threats to countries go unnoticed because of agencies like these. I just hope that most of it is based on fiction and not fact! I also love seeing Richard Armitage join the show but my favorite actor in this series is definitely Peter Firth who plays Harry Pearce. I think he holds the show together and has kept it stable with the coming and going of so many actors. I would highly recommend it!!
