Set 18 includes three new stand-alone mysteries from the British mystery franchise Midsomer Murders, never before seen in the U.S. John Nettles returns as Detective Chief Inspector Barnaby in these full-length mysteries set in England’s picture-perfect but perilous Midsomer County. The cozy villages of Midsomer County reveal their most sinister secrets in these mysteries, inspired by the novels of Caroline Graham, and featuring Nettles as the unflappable Barnaby and Jason Hughes as his earnest, efficient protégé, Detective Sergeant Ben Jones. Guest stars include Margaret Tyzack, Jenny Agutter , Nickolas Grace, Caroline Blakiston, Paul Shelley, and Paul Chapman. The mysteries include: "Small Mercies" in which a cat burglar’s robberies expose the dark secrets of a prominent family: "The Creeper," wherein Little Worthing’s model village is the highlight of its tourism trade -- until a dead body disfigures it; and "The Great and the Good," in which a village school’s possible closing leads to murder, mayhem, and a sleepwalking schoolteacher.

    NOT A FAVORITE

This is one of my absolutely favorite series for dozens of reasons and because it doesn't contain the "usual sexy shock value",. It's very often subtle, funny, but doesn't interfere with the mystery. I'm not a prude, really, but this wasn't it's usual standards. The mysteries??? I don't remember them. Sorry.Go back to your old quality, PLEASE.
