This is a great companion for the book, "Number the Stars" by Lois Lowery.  I used to teach that to my 8th graders and then follow up with this film.  My students loved both.  It gave them a chance to see that there were courageous people who stood up to the Nazis during World War II.

I found the story facinating and inspiring. It's amazing what people with love in their hearts can do in the face of evil. I recommend this DVD for everyone.

My friend and I saw some of thids movie in school...but our teacher left the "unnecessary parts" out, for it got a little violent. But my friend and I, who are Jewish, wanted to see the rest. So we've been searching to find this, and I FOUND IT! Now I'm telling my friend. I can't wait to see this!
