Overview

Described by some observers as a spiritual X-Files, the ABC drama series Miracles starred Skeet Ulrich as Paul Callan, who from his parentless childhood onward was a virtual ward of the Church. Thus, it was no surprise that the adult Callan would sign on as a special investigator for the Vatican, checking out the authenticity of reported miracles. Burned out and somewhat cynical, Paul experienced an epiphany after a near-death experience involving a terminally ill boy with remarkable healing powers. Recruited by a mysterious organization, Callan continued investigating religious and paranormal phenomena, albeit with a far more open mind than before. The hero's assistants in his mission were Professor Keel Angus MacFadyen and ex-cop Evelyn Santos Marisa Macguire Ramirez, while Father "Poppi" Calero Hector Elizondo acted as spiritual mentor and surrogate parent in the first episode, at least. Miracles premiered on January 27, 2003.

This series was very intelligent and gripping right from the beg

This series was very intelligent and gripping right from the beginning. It was very interesting and dark, and everything that the X-FILES was. All the episodes were well written, but my favorites are always Mother's Daughter (unaired), Friendly Skies (episode 2), and Saint Debbie (unaired). I was so happy to find that this series is out on DVD, because it at least deserves that. It deserved to have a full run and see how long it would have lasted.

    The Best TV Show Ever

I loved this show when it started on ABC, but sadly, it didn't make it through an entire season without being canceled. As soon as I found out it was comming out on DVD, I had to get it. There are even 8 episodes that weren't even aired in the U.S.
