The first time I watched this movie, my thoughts included, "Huh?" "What?" and often "I'm SO confused!" But, enthralled by the flawless acting, I decided to watch it again. And again. And again. And again, until my thoughts of, "wait, I don't get it," were replaced by, "WOW! This is such a great movie!!!" Every time you watch this movie, you pick up more pieces of the intracate plotline, which is so complex that I, who have watched it countless times, am still learning new things. Even if you're not crazy about seamless plots of deceptions, betrayals, revenge... (I could go on and on) you will probably be on the edge of your seat wondering if Ethan Hunt will ever find out who framed him. Not only is the storyline flawless, the action is breathtaking. I mean, Tom Cruise dangling mere inches away from the ground as a drop of perspiration threatens to set off the security system? A helicopter navigating through a tunnel? In this movie, nothing is impossible.

This movie was great! I didn't get to actualy see it till 2003. So, I saw Minority Report with Tom Cruise in it before I saw this. Both are great movies but Mission Impossible is, by far, the best one!!!!!

John Woo should win an award for how masterfully he turned this potentially great franchise into a caricature of not only itself, but every other movie he's ever made. The orignal had intrigue, wit, and relavance that are long forgotten by Woo's old tricks in the sequel: a nice linear (read: predictable) plot, lots of pigeons, and hours of slow-motion. The sequel would have been 40 minutes long had he cut out the spinning-car scene. Stick with this first movie, an action movie that needs to be seen, but isn't as self-aware as its illegitimate younger brother.

I'm a major Mission: Impossible fan. This movie is awesome. The action/adventure, the characters the plot (and tom cruise) makes this movies amazing. If this movie had anyother action but Tom, it still wouldn't be as good!
