Disney and Pixar have proven that they're a great team when it comes to putting out well-made intelligent animated films (that happen to be geared to kids), Monsters, Inc. is certainly no exception. This super-packed 2-disc set has hours of monster-loving extras for the munchkins and the film experts in your household. On disc one, Disney smartly offers both a full screen version for the kids and a wide screen version in the original 1.85:1 theatrical aspect ratio for movie mavens that love to see everything the director intended. Additionally, audio aficionados have their choice of three sound options, Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround EX, a Surround EX sound effects only track, or a THX with THX optimizer option. Also on disc one is a commentary track with director Pete Docter, co-director Lee Unkrich, executive producer John Lasseter and executive producer and screenwriter Andrew Stanton. The fun stuff is all on disc 2, which is cleverly divided so you can explore the monster's world or the human's world. The monster's world is where you become an employee of "Monster, Inc." Roz welcomes you as you take a look at the history of Monstropolis, you can page through the employee handbook to learn about everything from Sample Scare Reports to the top 10 ways to get fired or learn ways to gain 10,000 pounds and much more. You'll also see the Monster of the Month Awards and learn more about Monster World and it's citizens. Continuing on, you can go on the job with Monster, Inc.'s most loveable scare-meisters Mike and Sulley, see their screen-tests for the film, abandoned concepts for the plot, get a guide to the "inside jokes," see a brand new animated short created just for the DVD release called "Mike's New Car" and much more. Hang-on there's even more, as you explore the human world. You'll be taken on a tour of Pixar's state-of-the-art animation studio as you see how Monsters, Inc. goes from an idea to storyboards to understanding how to expand the story, to the finished product allowing you to compare the storyboards to the finished film. You'll be guided on an exploration of how Monstropolis was created, see the "monster files" and how to make a "great" monster. In fact, you'll see aspects of animation, production design, music and sound concepts and of course, the theatrical trailers, toys, posters and anything else you can imagine. Not only is this film a creative and technical work of art, but the DVD is a must-have for anyone who loves movies.

I'm old and i love this movie! who says its a kiddy movie? its the perfect family movie for everybody!!!!! with a good sense of humor!
When I first went out to see this movie, I could hardly wait for it to come out. When we got it, we watched it nonstop. I watch it when I come home from school, and every Friday and Saturday night. Sulley, Mike, Randall and cast rock!
This movie was a GREAT movie and I would highly suggest it for anybody who has kids. I personally have no kids but laughed all the way through. Definitely recommend it for anybody.
This movie is the best animation movie I have ever seen. After I saw this movie,I felt very happy, because I was moved by Mike's love and kindness for Boo. In addition, conversations between Sulley and Mike made me laugh very much. This movie contains emotions and laughter, moreover Sulley,Mike and Boo are so cute! I especially love Sulley!! This is the PERFECT movie!!!
No other movies can make my heart warmed than gMonsters, Inc.h This movie is made by Disney Company. Disney movies are always fantastic, but I thunk it is one of the most fantasic movies. When I saw a monster who is the hero of this movie save a human child from bad monsters, I felt the bonds of friendship. I was moved by this scene. However, I wasn't moved keenly, but brightly. This is because this movie is comedic. The fantasy and the imrpession were mixed and my heart was warmed by this mix.
I saw this movie with my sister-in-law and we both loved it!! The animation is spectacular and it is so funny as well as heartwarming. I just fell in love with the little girl Boo. As soon as it came out on video I knew I had to have it for my collection. I told my husband I was buying it for our 20 mos old son but I know I will be getting alot of enjoyment out of it as well!! The added features and outtakes are hilarious!! I would recommend this movie to everyone!!
but I am glad he did, because he hits the mark on this one. Pixar has brought another wildly inventive concept to life through computer animation with a little help from Billy Crystal and John Goodman. Imagine this, the monsters hiding in your closet that you were always afraid of as a child actually have everyday normal jobs as power plant workers who are producing screams in children to harness it as a power source that runs their city Monstropolis. When Sully (John Goodman) and Mike (Billy Crystal) find out that a child has crossed over into the monster city a hilarious adventure begins as they work to return Boo to the human world. G
I went to see this movie immediately after I came out of watching Harry Potter, which had made me cry from sheer disappointment. Boy, was I glad I saw Monsters, Inc! This was hands down THE FUNNIEST MOVIE OF 2001. Give yourself a great gift and BUY IT NOW!!! You will not be sorry you did. I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Shrek, shmeck...
Monsters Inc., starring the hilarious John Goodman and the equally hilarious Billy Crystal, is the story of James P. Sullivan (Sully) and his one-eyed pal, Mike Wazoski. One day, Sully accidentally lets a child, the most 'toxic, vile thing known to monsters' into the monster world. It is up to them to return the child, Boo, back home before she is discovered. I was amazed by the design of this film. The environment is incredibly crafted and the characters are unique and original. Another amazing part was Sully's fur, which moves like real animal fur with wind and movements. The music is catchy and upbeat, the plot is deep and competely original, and all the characters are loveable. Pixar and Disney hit the nail on the head with this classic. It is my favorite animated film of all time.
Incredibly inovative. Remarkably funny. Great movie!
I am a mother of a 2 year old and he loved it as well as my younger brother who is 22. I have to say that I am a fan of Monsters, Inc. It was wonderful to have a little over and hour of peace in my home!!
My family and i really enjoyed the movie and we would recomend it to any every one we know. The only thing is that my 3 year old crys at the end of the movie, reason for this is he asks me where is boo''s mommy....and that makes me cry too. any way just thought i''d mention it.
I have been counting down the days to buy this!! I am sooo excited to get it today after school!!
