    Terrific British Victorian Mystery!

We love BBC mystery shows and series and spotted this one on the shelf. We were totally unfamiliar with the show but it sounded good -- so we decided to take a chance on it. So glad we did because we love it and can't wait for the second series to come out on DVD. The four main characters are all personable and great, and the plot lines are really clever and innovative.

Learning about Toronto in the 1890s provides a fascinating backd

Learning about Toronto in the 1890s provides a fascinating backdrop to an equally fascinating detective mystery. Characters in Murdoch Mysteries are colorful without being stereotypes. Also costumes are great, and I am hoping are authentic. Throughout the series, plots are varied and the Murdoch's scientific interest backed by Dr. Julia's science, make for dramatic and insteresting plots. Character development adds depth and charm to the series. Actors Yannick Bisson, Helene Joy, Thomas Craig, and Jonny Davis bring fine performances.
