No other movie has touched me quite like Muriel's Wedding has. Growing up can be tough enough for a girl but when you toss being overweight with an emotionally abusive father and virtually absent mother it can lead to one serious lack of self-esteem and sense of worth. Muriel's Wedding is the story of one woman's struggle to find herself and her journey was so easy to relate to, so touching, that I found myself tearing up quite a few times. A very, very good, very very relatable film.

This movie was a mess. The film tries to portray Muriel Heslop as being an ugly character, living in a fantacy world throughout the movie, and at the end the film tries to make Muriel look normal, even sexy. At no point during the movie does Muriel look the slightest bit appealing. The movie was completely unattractive, the only well done aspect was the casting. the actors were well suited to their roles.

i love this movie, muriel went from being pushed around and demeaned by her dad to being self confident and learning to live on her own terms!

Grab you diet coke and chocolate, sit on the couch with your best friend, and get ready for the most hilarious-yet-deep movie ever filmed. It's about female relationships and female expectations, and the conclusion will make you return to this movie again and again. You'll never hear an ABBA song again without a smile on your face.

This has been one of my favorite movies for years, one that I can watch time and time again and still enjoy. I can't say enough about it. The music (ABBA) is excellent and the characters perfectly cast. You'll have a blast with this one.

I, absolutely loved this movie! It was sooooo funny. I can completely relate to Muriel's experiences and feelings as a single woman. I think of this movie as a kind of parody of single-ness for the lonely ones. It will have you laughing at yourself and those who you know do the same things.
