    A very different kind of life movie!

    I love this movie, it has a crash with fatalities,unfortunately, but also a story of love and friendships formed from different backgrounds and a little girl who needs a loving home. Excellent scenery, Love, love this movie so much I intend to go to Umbria and Siena one day!Dame Maggie Smith's best role yet!

    Umbria........paradiso!!

    I've watched this movie over a dozen times. Maggie gets better each time I watch it. I recommend this for anyone who loves Maggie Smith. She is truly a lady who can and has out shined all.

    Maggie shines again!

    This is a truly lovely film in every sense. It is based on a wonderful story that is beautifully translated to film by director, Richard Loncraine,and brought to life by a superb cast led by Maggie Smith. Another outstanding HBO feature.

    Tuscany ! Oh Tuscany !

    Great ensemble acting, typical quality intelligent, crafted literate script with english production(non-hollywood!!!!), Maggie sweeps all before her,lovely cameo by Ronnie Barker as the General; the house, the colours, Italy in the sun...........only tourists could spoil this, movie is full of 'old fashioned charm' relax with a decent bottle of Chianti and run the movie !
