The four films contained in this set are: First Spaceship on Venus, a second-season outing and the only one featuring Hodgson; the final Comedy Central episode, Laserblast, in which Dr. Clayton Forrester (Trace Beaulieu) pulls the plug on the Satellite of Love; Season 10's Werewolf, with references running the gamut from The Pirates of Penzance and Robert Bork to Snausages; and Future War from Season 11, the newest film ever skewered by Mike and the 'bots (the film was released in 1997 and ridiculed on MST3K in 1999).

    Here's the Scoop!

Another company took over the production of MST3K DVD sets, and this one sounds great. From what I could gather, you will get the following: Episode #211- Joel hosts the movie, First Spaceship on Venus: Episode #706- Mike hosts, Laserblast: Episode #904- Mike hosts, Werewolf ....this is one of my absolute favorites where lots of Europeans act like they're normal citizens of Flagstaff AZ. The woman keeps saying Vere Volf, instead of Werewolf. Martin Sheen's brother is one of the stars. I love the jokes and skits from Mike and the Bots. Last there's Episode #1004- Future War. A cheesy little SciFi flick about a nun who used to be a prostitute, getting her former gang together to battle cardboard dinosaur cutouts. Yep, it's good stuff. I also learned that this set will include a Crow figure, some Collector Cards, and a segment of the MST3K reunion on July 2008. I hope and pray that this new company gives us better quality copies of the movies than Rhino. I have all of them and two sets contained very poorly copied material.

    more from this reviewer

It wasn't as good as I thought it would be

We love the later ones with Mike and these earlier ones didn't appear as funny.
