This four-disc box set includes a quartet of never-before-released episodes of the long-running cult-TV series, featuring the memorably forgettable films Ring of Terror, Indestructible Man, Tormented, and Horrors of Spider Island. Special features include original theatrical trailers; another hearty portion of musical mayhem on the MST3K Video Jukebox; wraparound segments from the Mystery Science Theater Hour; and "A Tormented Reunion," featuring director Bert I. Gordon and stars Susan Gordon and Joe Turkel. The four episodes all benefit from some truly inspiring cinematic cheese. In Ring of Terror, a medical student must confront his worst fear when he is hazed by a fraternity. When an executed criminal's body is reanimated during a failed scientific experiment, he seeks revenge as Indestructible Man. A soon-to-be-married pianist is haunted by a jealous lover after he chooses not to save her from falling to her death in Tormented. And finally, in Horrors of Spider Island, seven stranded chorus girls find themselves hunted by their manager, who's been turned into a werewolf by a radioactive spider.

    Mystery Science Theater 3000 - Collection 11

I just saw the comments of one customer who got MST3K 11. I was real disappointed because mine had the same problem. It has to be a problem with Rhino's copying of the episodes, because this one DVD includes "The Phantom Creeps" with Bela Lugosi. That one is also in dark blue and black like "Ring of Terror." I love this grouping, especially for my personal fav, Tormented. Yes, there are some problems. But I'm so desperate for my MST3k fix, I can get over it.

    Mystery Science Theater 3000 - Collection 11

This MST3K set includes "Ring of Terror," "The Indestructible Man," "Tormented," and "Horrors of Spider Island." Prior to getting the set I had only seen Spider Island. First I'll address the problems with my DVD set. "Ring of Terror" is practically unwatchable. The entire movie is in dark blue and black, even with the daytime scenes. I could only see the actors because they were wearing light clothing. All backgrounds were dark to black. I had to rely on the dialogue to find out what was going on in many scenes. Often I couldn't even hear the dialogue, the audio was so low compared to the MST3K crew's rifftrax. Only the host segments are clear. In "Tormented" the audio is bad with lots of reverb. I had this movie (bought it at a Dollar Store), and that version was even clearer. Okay, so much for the DVD problems that ruined these movies for me. The jewel to me was "Horrors of Spider Island," with Mike Nelson and crew. A bunch of tough, crummy looking gals (think roller derby queens) fly off to become dancers. Their jet CATCHES FIRE AND CRASHES NOSE FIRST INTO THE SEA!!!! Yet, everyone not only survives without a scratch, but reaches an island in a lifeboat. The gals have shoes and purses too. The "horrors" present themselves. A great host segment is included where the crew try to do the same thing with the Satellite of Love. It's Great. The other movie "The Indestructible Man," has a sadly aging Lon Chaney Jr. in the lead role. Joel and the Bots are great as usual. I really look forward to each MST3K release and I have them all. So it's a great disappointment when there's problems with the technical end. If you're okay with that and are a die-hard fan like me, you'll want this set. I had to have it because I just miss Joel, Mike and my favorite Bots.
