I really enjoyed Frederic Lilian's documentary Pale Male.

I really enjoyed Frederic Lilian's documentary Pale Male. As an avid bird-watcher, I could really relate to the captivated crowds. But most important to me was how the story of this
unique red-tailed hawk flourishing in New York's Central Park captured the imagination of my grandchildren. Also, viewers of this fine documentary film may be interested to know that
the late Charles Kennedy, who is featured in the film, is an excellent poet. A collection of Charles Kennedy haiku, including his complementary photos and essays,The Fish Jumps Out Of The Moon, was recently published by his nephew, Steve Kennedy.

    I Also Recommend:

Bird Brigs Busy New Yorkers to A Halt!

"Pale Male" is a wonderfully delightful brilliantly made film about rarely sighted New York City birds of prey nesting and raring young in the majestic "Big Apple" - all while un-phased by the daily grind of frantically busy commuters, shoppers, jackhammers and Yellow Cabs moving about beneath their unique urban perches. You will be amazed to see how the parent birds and fledglings bring New York to a peaceful standstill in the sheer spender of Mother Nature's design. It is priceless to see the smiles on the faces of mesmerized city dwellers and tourists taken back by the beautiful unfolding of life many country dwellers may very well take for granted in the serenity of a forest edge or roadside. Still, even in a more natural habitat conducive to the wild, these mighty birds and the frailty of the newborns would surely steal hearts. An awesome B&N find for the whole family to watch with fascinating awe and deep appreciation. A powerfully entertaining and educational documentary certain to teach, amuse and initiate dialog!
