Tom Savini and the makeup effects crew went to morgue and studied real corpses to get the full grasp on what a decomposing body actually looks like rather than guessing. Sure, in concept the original Dawn was great but the bluish-greyish facepaint was really really sad, even for the time. Makeup aside, I felt that the acting was quite a bit better than the original Night. Finally Barbara didn't sit and cry all the time - that just got annoying. If you enjoy zombie movies in general but are looking for a more serious film rather than a campy romp, buy this.

whoever thinks the remake is a total waste... think again. The remake is awsome. Who wants to watch the old one with the lead woman that is weak and scared to do anything? The new movie shows her strong and not afraid of anything. She grows in this movie and you can see that. The old one she just sat there and cried. Both moveis are good but if you like movies with deeper meening that what is just there on the surface see the new one, but still watch the old one to compare. They are both great movies

Night of the living dead was okay, but the remake in my opinion is awesome. I think this has great suspense, but it has a lack of gore. This movie is better than the original in my opinion. The original was alright, it had good gore, okay suspense, but I guess it didn't rub me the right way. I love this remake.

This retread is unnecessary. While I'm unable to accurately say how many times this "film" made me laugh, I will say that it should be billed as one of the most laughable attempts at horror ever allotted a budget. Romero is exponentially more talented and this film takes itself way too seriously. The acting is subpar and the atmospherics from the original have been dumped to make way for better-looking zombies. Frankly, I'm shocked with the reviewers on this page. If you like the original, avoid this pathetic remake.

The first in George Romero's epic trilogy of the living dead. No silly brain-chomping, just a group of diverse people picked to survive the night in a strange house while keeping the walking dead from eating their flesh. In fact, I guess you could call it ''Real World, season 0!''

This flick, together with ''The Blob'', starring Steve McQueen, was the only movie to ever scare me senseless. I grew up watching the Deadly Earnest Horror Show, so I speak with some authority. Suspend your disbelief, look past the black and white and enjoy this terrifying film that will make you avoid cemetaries for a while!

This remake of the 1968 movie is beleve it or not better. It's scarier the zombies look better and the acting is better. It follows the same formula from the first one in almost every scene. This is one of the few remakes that succeeds in improving the first one rent it you won't be sorry.
