I NEVER watch medical shows. I am a registered nurse and they are just too stupid, unrealistic, insipid to watch. Comedies are better but often too over the top. This is very realistic and very funny. I can watch the episodes when they repeat over and over and enjoy them even more a second or third time around. I have been in almost all these scenarios over the years. I have been the "mean" nurse with the enthusiastic/annoying nursing student on my heals. I have covered doctors asses a million times and dealt with many idiots with MD behind their name. The acting is also fantastic. I loved Eddie Falco as Mrs. Soprano for years and it is great to have her back representing my profession and colleagues, EVEN with her character's flaws. The "fun" doctor we never get to work with enough, believe me they are few and far between, and share mutual respect. The administrator that rules with an iron fist and hides her own insecurities in the process. Our true nurse friends that we want by our side in the middle of the night, or day for that matter, when all hell breaks loose. If I could have a dream come true in my career it would be to have a walk on in this show! I have purchased this for many non-medical friends and family and they all loved it too.

I heard so many good things about the show and had to see it. I did "Pick Me Up" at several different B&N stores, and finally after driving to the next state over it was well worth the trouble! I fell in love with it and now am "hooked".

Nurse Jackie is just plain fun to watch. It is what most of us would like to do, but don't. It is not about good nursing. It is about entertainment when we are feeling a bit bad ourselves.

This show is fresh and funny, it's what I look forward to on Monday nights. The cast of characters is wonderful. Edie Falco who you may remember from the Sorpranos is brilliant as Nurse Jackie she's mean and loving all in one sweep. She's complicated with a drug problem, a husband at home, and a boyfriend at work, only her friend Dr. O'Hara knows about it. Eve Best is brilliant in this role. My favorite character by far is Dr. Cooper played by Peter Facinelli, he's funny and a bit of a player with the people of the hospital. This show is wonderful I highly reccomend it but be warned this show isn't for children. So like they say on the show. Viewer discrestion is advised.
