This widescreen budget priced Artisan Home Entertainment DVD release of The Object of Beauty corrects an earlier version that came in the pan-and-scan full-screen format only. This widescreen version also features a solid Dolby Digital audio track and the movie's theatrical trailer. What the disc doesn't feature is any meaningful DVD extras, which is unfortunate because the movie had a rather tortured history and some of it was reshot with a different crew (including post-production talent). The final product doesn't show any signs of behind-the-scenes trauma, but stories of hard shoots often make for the most educational and entertaining DVD commentaries and documentaries.
