One Night With the KingDirector: Michael O. Sajbel, Tiffany DuPont, Luke Goss, John Rhys-Davies
When a beautiful young slave girl learns that her people are about to fall victim to a horrible act of genocide, she will be forced to choose between realizing her wildest dreams or stepping into the pages of history to embrace her destiny in an epic tale of one young girl who rises from peasant to princess to claim the heart of a king. Esther was born an exquisite beauty, but her people have been enslaved by the most powerful kingdom on the planet and her parents executed before she ever had a chance to truly know them. Subsequently taken in by her kindly uncle, a royal scribe, Esther is soon spirited away to the royal palace to take her place in the king's harem. Trouble is stirring in this ancient land, however, and when the queen, Vashti, is banished by the unknowing king, palace princes scramble for a position of power the desperate king determined to live up to, and ultimately avenge the battles waged by his father long ago. Now, as the wheels of destruction are slowly set into motion, a malevolent prime minister who has fallen into favor with the king soon begins to wield a frightening amount of power by calling for the death of Esther's people. With time running out for her entire race, Esther must face her fears and be willing to lay down her life if she is to ever fully realize the plan that God has laid out for her.

Esther captures the heart of the king and the love that grows between them is amazing. She gets a king and saves her people plus it is an awesome ending. I LOVED it!
My father rented this movie and i thought, oh God another boring movie. It was completely opposite. It was daring and had lots of suspense and romance between the king and Esther. Finally a movie that shows how powerful women can be.
This movie was so heartwarming and encouraging...no matter what roadblocks are in our path, our faith in God and trusting His Word, His children will triumph over these obstacles. This movie was difinitely biblically based and the message is, with God all things are possible. We need more films like this, please keep producing them. Praise the Lord!
Wow what can't i say about this movie. It was a great movie overall. But what i loved the most was the dresses that are used on Esther. Everything was really good the story line from beginning to the end the story is just remarkable. The other part that i love the most of this movie is the scenery used on the waterfalls by the castle its just unbelievably beautiful. I would 100% recommend this movie to everyone. If you like romance movies this one is really good. This movie so far has stayed my number one ever since it came out. ^_^ You will enjoy it greatly. In this movie believing in the power of God and having faith in him anything can be accomplished; is proven to be the biggest factor of the story.
As far as biblical fiction goes, it is not too bad. There are confusing parts woven in, but on the whole I recommend this for teachers of religious education, both Judeo and Christian. It does a good job of bringing to life the PURIM STORY.
The story was captivating and enjoyable. What made it memorable was the description of Purim, the interesting direction the story takes, and the looks, gestures, and tones of the actors. Certain unique character features made the story endearing: The growth of Esther, (Tiffany Dupont), from a girl into a woman, the awesome, yet protective presence of Hegai, (Tom Lister), and the dark, omnimous presence of Haman, (James Callis). I love this movie that I've discovered. I was compelled to watch it several times with others. We discussed its appeal, the historical points, Purim, women's rights, inner beauty versus outward appearance, and compared it to the account in the Bible. I'm buying copies for birthday gifts this year.
I live in South Africa, and it's not here yet, but there's a rumour that it's coming,I can hardly wait.I've only seen the advertisement sections shown on God tv,before it came out in the USA.I've seen those about 9 times, and couldnot get enough of those filmsections already,so imagine how much I look forward to seeing the actual full movie. Thanks 4 bringing it here to RSA and to George,"Western Cape", soon I hope".
This movie was soo good!!I loved it! The only problem is that it seemed a little different from the Bible. But I still recommend it to everyone.
This was defintely one of the best movies I've seen in a long time! The cast was amazing and well chosen and the music was absolutely fantastic!!
Luved this movie sooooooo much! it was awesome! perfect betrayel of the bible study & beautiful acting despite the effects in the movie! i was so sad when her friend got transformed in2 a eunuch though! n a tyme where her ppl are bein oppressed hadassa must choose 2 either stay quiet & klet her ppl be destroyed or possibly lose her life by the veri han dof the 1 she loves 2 save her ppl! inspirational!
truely love it and worth the money. its so powerful and moving and my husbend enjoyed it to. it will keep you on the edge of youre seat. guys will like this to it has peter o tool. this is a wonderful movie.
I enjoyed this movie very much however, the foundation to the king and Esther's relationship wasn't established strongly. They sort of met and were on screen together shortly for about three times before they were at odds with each other. The depth of their love wasn't captured perhaps not until the end. This movie is recommended because the true meaning of it is to chase after GOD and not things. However, I would have loved it if the characters would have been depicted as spending more time together and establishing a true and pure love for each other and then....bam... the break up....And Esther revealed as Hadassah...I know it’s not written that way in the bible but part of the story line are fictional anyways. This is good film and it's very much recommended! I think you will enjoy it.
The movie was Ok...but it seemed more for children near the beginning. It kind of carries that out throughout the movie. Though I will admit it gets way better as the movie progresses.
I don hate religion its just that im not a strict christian, because i don agree with alot of the stuff the bible says. I knew this movie was the story of Queen Ester but i wanted to see the romantic version and not just the religious one. I certainly was not dissapointed. this movie is one of the most touching and romantic movies i have ever seen!!! There is everything from betrayal to justice and triumph, and love and deciet. I really loved the movie!!!
This is sch a good movie! Exciting, romantic, and surprisingly Biblical. I love Ms. Dupont, she is so perfect for her character. This is a must-see!
This movie was most definately a dissapointment! The acting was by no means great, and the ending so cheasy. Please don't bother watching it.
